FOMO-ing? Here are Upcoming Concerts in Singapore You Don’t Want to Miss!

Over the past couple of months, Singapore has been a fierce battleground for many ticketing wars over concerts that have left hearts pounding and spirits soaring. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour will go down in our history books as the most intense, blood-shedding of them all. Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour was compelled to add two more nights to their stop after their initial four nights were sold out at lightning speed.

But the drama doesn’t stop there. Other upcoming sold-out sensations include LANY, Rex Orange County, One Ok Rock, and K-Pop phenomenons ATEEZ and TWICE! If anything, these big names coming to our little red dot and quickly selling out their shows have ignited a sense of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) in us all. It’s got our hands itching, our wallets wailing, and all of us aching to scream and dance the night away.

But fret not. We offer a lifeline to the concert-deprived souls of Singapore. We present you with a list of all upcoming acts about to grace our stages with their electrifying auras. But heed this warning: protect your wallets, for this list could do some serious damage to your bank accounts. Consider yourself warned.

The Strokes

Are you surprised to see this name here? In an unexpected twist, American rock band, The Strokes, have added yet another night on 3 August 2023 to their previously sold-out show in Singapore following the unfortunate cancellation of The Strokes’ performance at Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur!

Hear it from them: “In an attempt to make sure all of our fans, particularly our fans in Kuala Lumpur affected by last week’s cancellation, are able to have a chance to see us, we are incredibly excited to announce a second show in Singapore on Thursday. We know this isn’t perfect for our fans in Malaysia, but it was the closest possible location to put on a show in such a short time. We look forward to seeing as many of you who can make it to the show!”

Performing their biggest hits like The Adults Are Talking, Last Nite, and You Only Live Once at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 2, and now, 3 August 2023. Ticket sales for the new show have begun on Marina Bay Sands’ official website starting from S$148, along with a “VIP Experience” package with exclusive perks!

SAM SMITH: GLORIA THE TOUR

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in a new era of Sam Smith. The same Sam Smith that has amassed 35 million albums sold, four Grammys, three BRITs, one Oscar, two No.1 albums and more, has released an album that isn’t playing the numbers game. Their newest album, Gloria, is the most confident and creatively fulfilled version of Sam Smith the world has ever seen.

Their current set in other stops of the gaudy, over-the-top and maximalist Gloria The Tour has been segmented into three acts, sort of like a theatre show – ACT I: Love, ACT II: Beauty, and ACT III: Sex. Performing their biggest and most-loved hits (Like I Can, I Know I’m Not The Only One, Too Good at Goodbyes, I’m Not Here To Make Friends, Unholy) adorned in grand ensembles, Sam Smith redefines their artistry in a bold new way. With a giant golden statue of the goddess Aphrodite lying on the stage, this show takes the spirit of the goddess of love and beauty herself in a way you’ve never seen before.

But do beware. The show is rated R18 with some rather audacious and scandalous portions that are an ode to the new Sam Smith. Their performance of ‘Unholy’ at the 2023 GRAMMYs is a good taste of what you can expect. With tickets ranging from S$108 to S$348, watch the new era of Sam Smith unravel right before your eyes on 24 October 2023 at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets are now available at Ticketmaster SG.

Charlie Puth Presents The “Charlie” Live Experience

One of the most consistent hitmakers, sought-after collaborators, and the human auto-tune – Charlie Puth. Yes, he’s coming to grace Singapore Indoor Stadium on 10 October 2023 to deliver eargasmic vocals that will give you a euphoric high.

Personally, Charlie Puth is my favourite TikToker. He documents his hit-making processes and has me hooked. When he turns random sounds into music, with the beautiful accompaniment of nature’s gift to man – his voice – he effortlessly creates the hottest beats and sickest bangers that we know very well today. Examples? Light Switch. That’s Hilarious. Left and Right. All members of his latest album, CHARLIE. We literally saw him create these songs with us, and now we get to watch him perform them live for millions of people around the world? That’s crazy.

Get your tickets to catch the musical genius live at Singapore Indoor Stadium on Ticketmaster SG. But you should hurry, because tickets are running out fast. Tickets still on sale range from S$168 to S$208.

Lauv: The Between Albums Tour

The honey-like voice that blessed us with I Like Me Better, Paris in the Rain, and i’m so tired… is making his way to Singapore as part of his The Between Albums Tour! Everyone, welcome Lauv! He will also be joined by special guest Alexander23

The multi-platinum certified singer, songwriter, producer, and pop visionary, who is consistently converting the magic around him into generational anthems, returns to Asia. When announcing the tour, he said, “I’m so excited to return to Asia for tour. Every time I tour there, it’s such an adventure with amazing fans, so I can’t wait to sing along with y’all to new and old songs”. Lauv also recently announced that a new album is in the works, so we’re double excited!

Catch him perform his biggest hits at Singapore Indoor Stadium on 5 September 2023! But tickets are literally almost sold out, so be very quick! Go to Ticketmaster SG, and select the last remaining tickets – Cat 1 Standing Pen B, priced at S$158 (still available as of the time of writing).

DEAN LEWIS: THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT WORLD TOUR 2023

“I know you love her, but it’s over, mate. It doesn’t matter, put the phone away. It’s never easy to walk away, let her go. It’ll be alright.” Oh, sorry! I got carried away singing the ultimate heartbreak anthem of 2019.

Dean Lewis had all of us singing in pain with his song, Be Alright, and he’s coming back to give us a taste of healing by letting us all scream the words to the most soul-wrenching songs – How Do I Say Goodbye, Half a Man, Waves, and more. He’s also been performing a cover of Yellow by Coldplay at his shows, so he might just do it for us too. A good practice for when Coldplay comes in January, huh?

Calling all broken souls as we stand together in camaraderie to sing our feelings away with Dean Lewis on 18 August 2023 at Capitol Theatre in the language we know best: heartbreak. Only standing tickets priced at S$118 are now available on Ticketmaster SG.

Mr. Big – The Big Finish

This one is sombre. We’re talking about the end of an era, the touring end of legendary American rock band, Mr. Big. They’re putting on their signature top hats and old shoes one last time for a world tour. Since the band’s original drummer and co-founder, Pat Torpey, lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease in 2018, they now feel it’s time to mark the end of this chapter of their legacy.

After 35 years of performing, they’re now ready to bid farewell to the stage they’ve graced for so long. In a glorious display of nostalgia and love, they will embark on a final, extended curtain call, performing their greatest hits like Just Take My Heart, To Be With You, Wild World, and Green-Tinted Sixties Mind.

Catch them, for the last time ever, at the Sands Theatre on 4 and 5 August 2023. Remaining tickets range from S$88 to S$188 on Marina Bay Sands’ website.

Johnny Orlando The Ride Tour

Remember this song? “What if I say; I know, you know; What if I told you I like you? We stay, we go; What if I told you I like you?” This gem from 2018 was by Johnny Orlando himself when he was just 15, in collaboration with Mackenzie Ziegler (stylised ’kenzie’)! No way!

Since then, Johnny has grown so much, even releasing his debut album ‘all the things that could go wrong’ in 2022, which has since amassed over 150 million streams globally! There’s no way you can miss this iconic young artist taking the stage at Capitol Theatre, belting bangers like What If (I Told You I Like You), someone will love you better, Everybody Wants You and more!

Performing on 28 November 2023, ticket sales on Ticketmaster SG have begun, so tickets ranging from S$98 to S$108 are yours for the taking!

Salem Ilese High Concept Tour

Salem Ilese (stylised ‘salem ilese’) is a singer you might have first heard on TikTok. Her song, Mad at Disney, went viral on the platform a month after its release in 2020 and entered the charts worldwide, reaching the Top 10 in Singapore. It’s been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It conveys her anger at Disney for setting unrealistic expectations of true love and life in a fresh new way that had us all jamming in agreement.

But learning about Salem Ilese is like falling down the rabbit hole the more you learn about her. Not only is she a fantastic singer and performer, but she’s also a songwriter that has worked with some big names on some big songs – Jamie Miller’s Here’s Your Perfect, K-Pop boy group TXT’s Anti-Romantic, Bella Poarch’s Build a Bitch, Taeyeon’s Toddler, and Demi Lovato’s Holy Fvck – just to name you a few!

This up-and-coming talent deserves so much support for bestowing upon us lyrical gems, along with her beautiful voice. Catch her at the Capitol Theatre on 2 October 2023. Tickets will be on sale on Ticketmaster SG from 4 August onwards, ranging from S$78 to S$88. Get ready!

2023 BOL4 ASIA TOUR

Get a taste of something different with BOL4 – a big name in the K-Indie scene who has made a name for herself in the industry with her distinct vocal colour and heartfelt delivery!

In a whirlwind of musical triumph, her second mini album ‘Red Diary Page.1’ took the Korean music charts by storm, with tracks like Some, To My Youth and Blue capturing the top three spots on six major Korean music charts in 2017. In 2020, BOL4 collaborated with Baekhyun, a member of the K-Pop superstar group EXO, shocking fans and propelling the song to No. 42 on Melon’s Top 100 Songs Chart of 2020!

Don’t miss her dreamy voice as she comes to The Theatre at Mediacorp on 10 September 2023 to enchant you! Tickets are yours for the taking on Ticketmaster SG, ranging from S$118 to S$238.
