The choice for eco-conscious consumers: Acer’s refreshed Aspire Vero

Recently, the world has been moving towards sustainability and becoming more environmentally friendly. As a result, many companies have been thrust into the spotlight, with consumers demanding more transparency in their inside operations and wanting a move towards sustainability from the companies themselves.

Acer is one company that has responded in turn, recently announcing two new ecologically sustainable laptops โ€“ the Aspire Vero AV14-51 and AV15-52, which are the direct successors to the previous 2021 models.

In the new models, they come with Intelโ€™s Evo platform, which means that they can support long hours of usage โ€” with a battery life of up to sixteen hours of video playback. Not only that, but they also come with fast charging, being able to last for four hours on a thirty-minute charge, as well as adding an instant wake feature.

But the main selling point of the new Aspire Vero is how sustainable it is. Integrated throughout the entire laptop are both sustainable and eco-friendly materials, which helps reduce carbon footprint; A great appeal to the many who are starting to move towards ecological sustainability!

For example, the chassis of both models, the screen bezels and the keycaps of the laptops all utilise PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastics, all of which help to reduce carbon emissions from the manufacturing process, which is carried over from the previous generation models.

One of the main differences in this yearโ€™s model compared to the previous yearโ€™s is the OceanGlass trackpad. Made of Ocean-Bound plastic, which is collected within fifty kilometres of coastal areas or walkways, it makes the laptop overall even more eco-friendly and further highlights Acerโ€™s move towards sustainability.

Underneath the laptop, multiple standard screws hold the laptop together, allowing for easier disassembly and upgrading of the laptop if required, making the laptop a great choice for long-term use.

Acer has also managed to ensure that even the packaging is more environmentally friendly; The inner partition of the box can transform into a laptop stand for a more comfortable typing experience, ensuring that your hands would not get too tired from typing for long hours!

Specs-wise, the new laptops are also no slouches, rocking FHD displays with updated IPS panels which provide bright, vibrant colours for great viewing compared to the 2021 model. Furthermore, Acerโ€™s TNR (Temporal Noise Reduction) solution also means that even in low-light conditions, visuals are still as great as ever.

The laptops are also powered by Intelโ€™s 12th-generation processors and Iris Xe graphics, meaning that despite the price point, they are no slouch, with the latest generation of laptop processors ensuring that you can get things done quickly and efficiently.

Moreover, connectivity is ensured with its two 3.2 Type-A ports, Thunderbolt 4 Type C ports and Wifi 6E, which allows for seamless connectivity to multiple different devices. Not only that, but they also come with an FHD 1080p camera, along with Acerโ€™s AI Noise Reduction which allows for suppressed background noise, making your calls both visually and audibly crisp and clear.
