Throw Down Your Crown, with Jean Tan’s ‘Crowns’

If you’re looking to unwind and pick up an easy listening track, look no further than Singapore singer-songwriter Jean Tan‘s latest single, ‘Crowns’! Arranged by Kevin Foo of Beep Studios (who’s worked with the likes of Linying and Charlie Lim), ‘Crowns’ is an easy listening tune that blends breezy folk guitar with a beautiful electronic soundscape and a merry little trumpet lead – incredibly fitting for Jean’s soulful vocals. Their debut single, “Captivate” ,certainly captivated audiences (sorry, we couldn’t resist) here and abroad. Released just last September, the track has garnered over 5,000 plays on YouTube – a laudable feat for a fresh-faced local act. Across what we’ve heard so far, midst’s atmospheric, “yoga retreat soundtrack” vibe…

Cleaning House with Clean Bandit

As part of their #BanditAsia tour, British four-piece band Clean Bandit took to the stage at The Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel on 25 November 2015. Performing their unique mix of classic and electro-pop music, the Bandits brought upbeat stage presence and their compelling vocals to boot for their fans. The band belted out tunes from their debut studio album, “New Eyes” (which peaked at number 3 on the UK Albums chart). With familiar hits such as “Extraordinary“, “Real Love” and the massive pop earworm “Rather Be“, the audience (and our) hearts were captured as they bounced along. After a moderate delay, the…
