Ultra Singapore 2019: Marred by the Lack of World Class Acts, Not by the Change in Venue or Controversies

In the weeks leading up to Ultra Singapore 2019, the festival had been torn to shreds because of speculations of legal issues, the withdrawal of headliner Martin Garrix, and the change in location. A day before Ultra Singapore 2019 was set to take place, it was reported that a winding-up application for Ultra Singapore Pte Ltd had been filed. To add fuel to the fire, it was also announced…

While the Singaporean arts scene may not be as conspicuous compared to other countries, it has seen significant growth in the range and quality of cultural offerings. To show support for the growing arts scene in Singapore, DANAMIC supported two productions by local universities this year – ICN: Arunika by NTU and GAYA: Sangharsa (The Struggle) by SMU. Indeed, we never truly appreciate the work that our mothers put in until we stop to think about it. They work behind the scenes to ensure everything in our lives goes smoothly and are there immediately for us when we hit a bump on our life journey. Here…

To Grab or to Club: An Analysis on GrabClub’s Commute Plans

Subscriptions are all the rage now, and Grab is clearly jumping on the bandwagon. In early January this year, Grab added two new subscription plans in the Grab app, after the first pilot of the monthly food and transport subscription plans in December 2018. For paying a fixed amount every month, subscribers will enjoy a lower upfront price for Grab services like Grab rides, GrabFood, or both. This also means paying nominal fees for guaranteed discounts – an extremely attractive perk, if you have been as addicted to the convenience of private-hire car services as we are. In this article,…
