CASIO’s new G-SHOCK 2500 series goes on sale in Singapore on 7 November 2026. If you’ve always liked the idea of a G-SHOCK but never wanted a digital screen on your wrist at the office, this is the version made with you in mind.
The series is an all-analog take on the DW-5000C, the watch that started the G-SHOCK story in 1983.

Back to 1983, Minus the Digits
Some context for anyone who mostly knows G-SHOCK as the chunky watch on every streetwear fan’s wrist. CASIO says the brand grew out of a mission by its creator, Mr Ibe, to build an unbreakable watch. The DW-5000C arrived in 1983, designed to resist gravitational shock, and by the brand’s 35th anniversary in 2018, G-SHOCK watches had sold over 100 million units in more than 100 countries.

Most of what followed kept the digital display front and centre. The 2500 series drops the screen completely, and that’s the real news here. CASIO describes a pure analog display built for at-a-glance reading, so you check the time the way you would on any classic watch.
What survives from the original is the attitude. The case curves gently all over, which CASIO says creates light and shadow that shift with every angle. The signature button guards are still there, and a sculpted octagonal-round bezel frames the sharply defined indexes. It’s G-SHOCK toughness in a shape that won’t look out of place with a blazer, and that’s the part that makes this launch worth a second look.
One Window, Many Jobs
The cleverest detail sits at 3 o’clock. CASIO calls it Multi-Mission Date, a three-cell window that switches between the date, the current mode, stopwatch minutes and setting information, depending on which function you’re using. Giving one small window several roles is how the watch keeps extra functions without bringing back a digital screen.

Once you’ve set the year, month and day, the calendar runs automatically on the analog dial through 2099. That means no more manually correcting the date after a short month, which anyone who has owned a basic analog watch will appreciate more than they’d like to admit!
CASIO has colour-matched that window to the dial so it doesn’t pull attention from the hands. The tail of the small seconds hand carries a SHOCK RESIST mark as a nod to the brand’s origins. You’ll only spot these touches up close, and that restraint is the whole design brief.

Tough Down to the Minute Hand
Analog hands have always been a weak point on a watch built to take a beating, because a hard knock can throw them out of position. CASIO’s answer is a Shock-Release Hand Structure. Rather than being fixed to the shaft, the minute hand is held in place magnetically, which the brand says lets it absorb and disperse impact.

There’s a battery trick as well. A second hand sleep function lets you stop the small seconds hand whenever you like, and CASIO says this reduces power consumption and extends battery life. It’s handy if you’d rather stretch the battery than watch the seconds tick by.
The Line-Up
The GAC-2500 is the full resin line, positioned for utility and everyday versatility, and it includes the GAC-2500-1ADR, GAC-2500-3ADR, GAC-2500-7ADR and GAC-2500-9ADR.

The GMC-2500 mixes metal and resin in what CASIO calls its G-STEEL construction. It includes the GMC-2500-1ADR, the GMC-2500-1A8DR and the gold GMC-2500G-9ADR.
The GMC-2500D sits at the top of the range. These full metal bracelet models, which CASIO calls the collection’s most refined, come with a black dial (GMC-2500D-1ADR) or a blue one (GMC-2500D-1A2DR).

For most readers, the GAC-2500 is the one to look at first. Because CASIO built that tier around everyday versatility, it’s the model you can wear with a T-shirt on Saturday without a second thought. If you want something closer to a dress watch for work, go for the GMC-2500D. Its all-metal bracelet is where the series’ smarter side shows most clearly, and the blue dial is the one that stands out in the line-up.
A Campaign About Weightlessness
The launch campaign is titled “Toughness, Refined”, with creative direction from YOSHIROTTEN, a Tokyo-based artist and creative director whose work connects colour and time across the digital and physical worlds. CASIO says the visuals aim for a sense of lightness and freedom from gravity. That’s a fun twist for a brand born from a watch designed to survive being dropped.
The idea behind the campaign matches the watches themselves. CASIO frames the 2500 series as the original G-SHOCK’s toughness paired with a minimalist analog design, and the calm, quiet mood of the visuals is a deliberate step away from the loud, rugged image many people associate with the brand.
