If you’re running the adidas Half Marathon at the BYD Singapore International Marathon 2026 presented by adidas (SGIM ’26), your training now counts toward a bigger scoreboard than your own Strava feed. On 27 October 2026, adidas Singapore launched Mission <2:40, a nationwide push to bring the race’s average finish time under two hours and 40 minutes. A series of Strava challenges runs from 5 to 26 November, with a complimentary bib for next year’s race among the prizes.
The benchmark comes from 2025, when the event still carried the name Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. adidas says the half marathon’s average finish time that year was 2:40, a figure it drew “from available online records,” and the brand now wants this year’s field to beat it as a group.

One Average, Every Finisher
The clever part of Mission <2:40 is that every finisher’s time feeds the same number. That means a first-timer who beats their goal by five minutes moves the average as surely as a seasoned club runner chasing a personal best (PB).

Chen Ruiyuan, Country Manager of adidas Singapore, framed it around two familiar adidas lines: the brand ethos You Got This and the adidas Runners motto Every Pace Has a Place. “At adidas, we believe sport is at its most powerful when it brings people together,” he said, adding that the company wants “a collective national movement, one that unites everyday runners and elite athletes behind a shared goal.”
Strava Challenges, Real Prizes
From 5 to 26 November 2026, adidas will run a series of Strava challenges aimed at getting runners to their personal bests. Participants can win a complimentary bib for SGIM ’27 and earn exclusive access to the starting line on race day. The full mechanics, including targets and how winners are picked, will be announced on adidas Singapore’s account, @adidasSG.

Saturdays With Coach Arthur Tong
For runners who want structure as well as prizes, the adidas-owned run club adidas Runners (AR) has been running a weekly Marathon Training Programme since August. Sessions happen every Saturday at different locations around the island, led by World Triathlon Certified Coach Arthur Tong.

According to adidas, the programme is built around physical and tactical training themes, with guidance tailored to every race distance on offer at the national marathon. That rotating, islandwide format is the detail we like most, because it means the session isn’t always a long trek from your HDB estate. To find out where the next Saturday run is, join the adidas Runners Telegram Group Chat, where AR shares ongoing updates and community training sessions.
The Capsule Collection Crew
The launch came with a line-up of familiar faces wearing the adidas x SGIM26 Capsule Collection: Shane Tan, Jamie Pang, Joakim Gomez, Nazri Rahman, Bernice Tan, Benjamin Kheng, Shermaine Ang, Clarissa Seow, and Dinesh Jaswani. The red sets and green sleeveless tops are hard to miss, and they look like they’ll stand out in a crowded race photo.

adidas Singapore and the Singapore International Marathon also say more activities for runners and the public are on the way before race day, so the Strava challenges are only the first push of the campaign.
