Full Costume, Free Upgrade: Museum of Ice Cream’s Halloween Deal Runs Till 1 November

Book a General Admission ticket to Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) in Dempsey, turn up with your whole squad in full Halloween costume, and the museum will upgrade every one of you to Premium Admission for free. The Halloween run started on Wednesday, 21 October and wraps on Sunday, 1 November 2026, which leaves two weekends to finally pull off the group costume your friends have been talking about since last October.

The free upgrade is the headline, but the pink ice cream playground on Loewen Road has piled on more: two limited-time flavours, a S$5 trick-or-treat trail built around dares, and dried mealworms you can scatter over your soft serve if you’re feeling bold. Here’s how to make the most of it without your Halloween budget turning into its own horror story.

The Costume Rule, Decoded

The upgrade only applies when the entire party is in costume, so one friend in office wear and a pair of cat ears could cost the whole table. Go all in. MOIC suggests matching monster outfits or a coordinated coven of witches.

So what does Premium actually get you? MOIC’s ticket listing says it adds Premium-only flavours at four ice cream stations and one complimentary drink per ticket, while everyone else still gets unlimited ice cream across five dessert stations and 12 installations. The costume is what earns the upgrade, and you may already own one.

One practical catch: MOIC’s listing says a group must buy the same ticket type, so book everyone on General Admission and let the costumes do the upgrading. Tickets are also valid only for the date and time slot you pick, which means getting there on time matters more than perfecting the fake blood.

Purple Scoops and Pumpkin Spice

Two Halloween flavours have joined the line-up: Pumpkin Spiced Latte and U-BOO, an ube scoop. Ube is the purple yam that shows up in plenty of Filipino desserts.

U-BOO is the one to chase. Pumpkin spice turns up on every café menu each October, but a lilac scoop inside a pastel museum is a photo your feed hasn’t already seen five times this month. Which one would you rather post?

Mealworms, If You Dare

This is the part that will get people talking. MOIC is offering dried mealworms from local edible-insect brand InsectYumz as an optional topping for soft serve, and the museum describes them as approved by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the country’s food regulator.

InsectYumz is a local edible-insect brand.

The brand says its snacks are lightly seasoned and crunchy, a bit like chips or nuts, and are made with first-timers in mind. That makes the dare less gross than it sounds, which is good news for whichever friend loses the coin toss. The real prize is the reaction video, so set up the camera before anyone takes a bite, and if you have food allergies, check with the staff before you try it.

S$5 for Screams and Thriller

The Trick or Treat Experience costs a S$5 top-up for a Trick or Treat Bag, which you can buy at MOIC’s Retail, Bar and Diner outlets or add on when you book online. You fill the bag at four designated ice cream stations, each with pink cauldrons full of candy, but you have to earn your sweets: each time, you draw a challenge card and complete it, whether that’s your best horror movie scream, dancing to Thriller, or telling a one-minute ghost story to one of MOIC’s costumed guides.

This is the add-on to say yes to. Five dollars costs less than most bubble teas with toppings, and the challenges hand your group ready-made video moments. And if your crew is more emo than Michael Jackson, queue up The Black Parade for the ride home.

Daytime, Pastel, No Jump Scares

MOIC is the opposite of a jump-scare night: daytime, pastel, and powered by sugar, with the costume upgrade doing the heavy lifting on price.

Opening hours vary by day, so check the official ticketing site when you book.
