IQUNIX EV63 EDG Edition: a Champions Keyboard or a Gold Logo Swap?

Ever wondered what VALORANT pros rest their fingers on between clutch rounds? Keyboard maker IQUNIX has a new answer in the IQUNIX EV63 EDG Edition, a black and gold version of its compact Hall effect gaming keyboard made with EDward Gaming (EDG), the team that won VALORANT Champions 2024. It’s listed as Coming Soon, so Singapore and US fans have time to decide whether the gold trim earns a premium over the regular board.

IQUNIX sent us its announcement, so the performance figures here are the brand’s own claims. We’ve weighed them against what independent reviewers said about the standard EV63 underneath, because that tells you more about whether this is a good keyboard or a pretty one.

Champions in Black and Gold

EDG’s VALORANT squad lifted the trophy at VALORANT Champions 2024, then added a regional title this year at 2026 VCT CN Stage 1 (VCT stands for VALORANT Champions Tour, the game’s pro circuit). IQUNIX first announced its partnership with the team on 26 January 2026, saying it wanted pro feedback to refine gear for top-level play. According to the brand, the EDG Edition then went through five rounds of joint tuning with the team, focused on real gameplay.

IQUNIX was founded in 2014 by Levan Li, and fans call it the Aluminum Factory because its keyboard bodies are machined from aluminium. The EDG model becomes the sixth EV63 option on IQUNIX’s website, joining Violet, Silver Knight, Dark Knight and the two Ghost in the Shell versions, Shell Core and Cyber Blue. Six outfits on one chassis tells you how IQUNIX sees the EV63: a dependable base that fandoms can dress up.

Six Player Cards, Two Metal Keycaps

The design is where your money visibly goes. IQUNIX says the board carries a 2024 World Championship Star Emblem marking the Champions win, plus a 2026 VCT CN Stage 1 commemorative keycap celebrating the regional title.

Then come two CNC-machined metal keycaps (CNC means computer-controlled cutting) with enamel detailing and gold accents, alongside soft-touch frosted PC (polycarbonate) keycaps. The detail fans will love most is the set of exclusive keycaps with raised player signatures that you can feel under your fingertips mid-match!

The box adds six EDG player cards capturing standout moments from the team’s 2026 league season, which gives the whole package a collector’s edge rather than the feel of a keyboard with a logo stamped on top.

If you’ve followed EDG since that 2024 run, this is about as close as you’ll get to a jersey you can type on. It beats a logo mousepad as a souvenir, and the signature keycaps are the bit that’ll still feel special a year from now.

Speed Claims, Read Carefully

Hall effect switches use magnets in place of metal contacts, so the keyboard knows exactly how far down each key sits. That’s what powers Rapid Trigger at 0.01 mm on the EV63, where a key resets the moment you start lifting, which is the trick that makes counter-strafing in VALORANT feel snappier.

The new addition is the Timing Synchronization System (TSS), which IQUNIX says it developed around EDG’s feedback. It lines up the keyboard’s input processing with your PC’s USB polling cycle, with the stated goal of more consistent, predictable timing when a duel comes down to a split second.

On HyperCore V3.1 firmware, IQUNIX’s own testing puts actuation latency at 0.29 to 0.30 ms and release latency at 0.26 to 0.27 ms, results the brand calls leading. Gadgetoid, reviewing the earlier HyperCore V3 figures, pointed out that those numbers came from simulated tests, so read them as a best case and not as what your setup will measure.

The rest of the spec sheet reads 8,000 Hz polling (a report every 0.125 ms), 16,000 Hz scanning, a Gamepad Mode that turns key depth into analogue movement in supported games, and Magnetic X Ultra switches. Smart Switch Adaptation, which IQUNIX says recognises 99% of mainstream Hall effect switches, is the one most players will feel day to day, since it makes swapping in a different switch far less of a gamble than chasing another fraction of a millisecond.

Pros Use It, Reviewers Like It

IQUNIX says the EV63 is used by pro VALORANT teams EDG, Wolves Esports and MIBR, and by players including Grim, Fyr, gokedTV, Subroza, Fugu and Hiko. Fans have always cared about what the pros use, in the same way Dota 2 viewers dissected every draft at The International 11.

Independent reviews of the standard EV63 have been warm. ProSettings.net called it “one of the best all-round gaming keyboards” it had tested, praising the sturdy aluminium case and a 63% layout that keeps the arrow keys.

The complaints are worth knowing before you commit. The EV63 is wired only, and Gadgetoid noted its web software needs a Chromium-based browser. ProSettings.net found the lighting dull and limited, while one r/keyboards owner reported that every stabiliser rattled on their unit. None of that ruins the board, but would you want to find it out after spending collector money?

So, Is It Worth It?

IQUNIX told us the China price is 1,359 RMB, which comes to roughly S$260 at Wise’s mid-market rate of about 0.19 SGD per yuan, an estimate and not an official price. The maker says the overseas price “may be close to it” but has not given a Singapore or US figure. Singapore readers can order from iqunix.com, which ships here; IQUNIX has not yet said what shipping costs or how long it takes. The launch date is not set, with the maker expecting about a month, so mid-November is a guess, not a date.

That anime edition is the best guide to how this one will age. The Shortcut gave it 4/5, and reviewers broadly agreed the platform underneath was the strong part, while the themed extras were worth paying for mainly if you loved the licence.

So here’s the honest call: if EDG’s 2024 run gave you goosebumps, the EDG Edition is the one to wait for, because the signature keycaps and player cards are things no regular colourway offers.

The EV63 EDG Edition is shaping up as a love letter to one of VALORANT’s champion squads, built on a keyboard that reviewers rate on its own merits. Keep an eye on IQUNIX’s website, where the brand says it’ll arrive as the sixth EV63 option, and be ready to move if those signature keycaps have your name on them!
