If your kid narrates every LEGO police chase across the living room floor, a hotel in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, just across the border from Singapore, now has a room that plays along. LEGOLAND Hotel Malaysia has new LEGO CITY-themed rooms. The resort’s official listing prices them from RM792 a night, so a Singapore family can book a weekend without a flight.
The hook for parents is simple: the room is part of the playset, so the adventure carries on once the rides close.

Cops, Crooks and a Jewellery Heist
LEGO CITY is the long-running LEGO line built around everyday heroes, so think police stations, fire trucks and construction sites rather than dragons and castles. The resort’s Theme Park already has a LEGO CITY zone, and the new rooms bring that same world upstairs to where your family sleeps.
According to the resort, each room tells a story that sprawls across the walls. Police officers respond to a jewellery heist while crooks make their getaway. Firefighters, construction crews and deep-sea divers fill out the scene with plenty of humorous little moments to hunt for. Families are meant to follow the chase around the room and spot hidden details as they go.
Ms Thilakavathy Munusamy, Director (Sales & Marketing) of LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, described the rooms as a way to stretch the park visit into the evening. “With the launch of our new LEGO CITY-themed rooms, we’re bringing that spirit of adventure from our Theme Park’s LEGO CITY zone into the hotel, giving families another opportunity to play and imagine together,” she said.
The Treasure Hunt Steals the Show
The detail likely to win over kids is the in-room treasure hunt. Kids follow clues hidden throughout the room to unlock special LEGO surprises, and it turns the usual hotel ritual of unpacking and arguing about baths into a mission with a reward at the end.
That matters more than it sounds. Anyone who has checked into a hotel with tired kids knows the first hour can go sideways fast, so a built-in quest that keeps small hands busy while the adults sort out the bags is quietly brilliant hotel design!
Bunks for Three, a King for You
The layout follows the signature LEGOLAND Hotel set-up: separate sleeping areas for adults and children. Parents get a king-sized bed, while the kids’ corner has a bunk bed and pull-out trundle for up to three children, which means the room sleeps up to five.

For a family of five, that means one booking instead of two adjoining rooms. Parents get their own corner without anyone shuffling luggage between doors at 11pm, and the kids get a space that feels like their own clubhouse.
What RM792 Gets You
On the official LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort listing, the LEGO CITY Premium Room starts from RM792 per room per night, roughly S$240 by our own conversion, not an official price. That’s a “from” rate rather than a fixed price, so expect it to climb on weekends and school holidays.
Here’s the interesting bit: the newest theme opens at the same starting rate as the Adventure room (from RM792), and sits below the Kingdom room (from RM840) on the same listing. You’re getting the freshest theme in the building without paying a premium for novelty, which is rare for a launch.
Treat the RM792 as the price of the room itself. Budget separately for Theme Park and Water Park tickets, meals, and the drive up from Singapore unless the package you pick spells out that they’re bundled. Read the inclusions carefully before you hit pay.
Is It Worth the Trip?
LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is run by Merlin Entertainments and pitches itself at families with kids aged 2 to 12. Beyond the hotel, the resort has a Theme Park, a Water Park and SEA LIFE Malaysia, plus more than 80 rides, slides, shows and attractions, so a single night already fills a weekend.
The hotel opened in 2013, and the resort bills it as Asia’s first LEGO-themed hotel. CITY now joins a line-up of PIRATE, KINGDOM, ADVENTURE, LEGO NINJAGO and LEGO Friends rooms.
Our pick? For kids roughly four to nine who build fire stations and police cars at home, CITY is the room to book. It costs the same as Adventure at the entry rate, it’s the newest décor in the hotel, and the heist storyline gives the treasure hunt a plot. Older kids already deep into ninjas and spinjitzu may still lobby for NINJAGO, and that’s a fair fight.
If your little builder has already dragged you to the life-sized LEGO F1 car at Suntec City, which is parked there until 18 October, this is the natural next step up. And if your October weekends are already spoken for by our Halloween in Singapore picks, November and the year-end break are open for planning.
