Things to Do in Singapore This Week: 13 to 19 October 2026

Race week packed up on Sunday night, but the city didn’t slow down with it. Between 13 and 19 October 2026, VivoCity is running S$15 mini-car races, a mall-sized Butterbear has moved into orchardgateway, three new Japanese spots have opened at Raffles City Singapore, Lau Pa Sat and One Raffles Place, and Halloween is starting to take over. Several of these end on Sunday, so here’s what to do first, whether you’re planning for the kids, a shopping run, a long lunch or a free weekend.

Butterbear Takes Over orchardgateway

Butterbear, the honey-loving bear character, has teamed up with orchardgateway for what the mall calls the character’s first-ever mall collaboration in Singapore. This week has two dates to watch: the collectibles redemption ends soon, and the giant displays arrive on Saturday.

Until 18 October, shoppers can collect all four Butterbear collectibles. Spend S$120 to redeem a S$10 voucher and a one-hour free parking coupon, or spend S$250 to get an extra Butterbear Blind Box with one of four eco bag and charm designs. You can’t pick which design you get, which is either half the fun or all of the frustration, depending on how much of a completionist you are!

Then, from 17 October to 1 November, the mall puts up larger-than-life Butterbear displays, themed standees and photo spots. That makes Saturday the sweet spot, because you catch the new photo spots on day one and still have a day and a half before the redemption cut-off.

If you were going to shop in Orchard anyway, go for the S$120 tier. The voucher and parking coupon offset part of the spend, and it’s the cheaper way into the collection.

VivoCity Turns 20

VivoCity is marking its 20th birthday with a celebration at Central Court from 12 October to 1 November. The part with a deadline is the Birthday Playground, which closes on Sunday, 18 October.

For families, the mini-car races are the main draw. A 10-minute race costs S$15 nett from 12 to 16 October.

Three New Japanese Spots

Your lunch break gets a refresh this week. Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa, a MICHELIN-selected restaurant according to its operators, has opened its second Singapore outlet at Raffles City Singapore, which is also its 50th worldwide. The headline dish is the Unagi Mountain, a limited-time plate served only at this outlet, alongside the Kabayaki Ippon Jyu Set and Hitsumabushi Set.

Over at Lau Pa Sat, Yamamoto’s Hamburg, nicknamed Yamahan in Japan, has opened its first Singapore outlet. It’s built around a hand-formed beef patty, and there’s also a chicken patty made only for Singapore.

For CBD workers stuck at their desks, Torikizoku Express at One Raffles Place sells yakitori, onigiri and bento sets in a grab-and-go format. If you can only try one, make it the Singapore-only chicken patty at Yamamoto’s.
