Singapore GP Week Free Art: F-LUX at the Arts House, 8 to 13 Oct

Race week tends to be loud, expensive and planned around practice sessions, but one of its calmest options costs nothing and needs no ticket. F-LUX. Art’s Fluid Space, a free group exhibition about water, air and time, runs at The Arts House from 8 to 13 October 2026. This guide is for culture lovers, anyone with a free afternoon between race nights, and friends who want a cool indoor stop in the Civic District that doesn’t involve a grandstand.

F-LUX: Art Meets Fluid Dynamics

The idea behind F-LUX. Art’s Fluid Space suits a Grand Prix week better than you’d expect. Formula 1 is obsessed with how air moves over a car, and this show takes that same science, fluid dynamics, and gives it to artists, who answer through painting, installations and digital work.

The exhibition comes from the Fondazione Dino Zoli (the Dino Zoli Foundation, an Italian arts foundation), working with DZeAsia and DZ Engineering. The foundation frames the show as a meeting point between scientific research, especially fluid dynamics and aerodynamics, and artistic imagination. Its recurring themes are movement, transformation, energy and unpredictability, which is a fair description of a street circuit at night too.

It sits within the official Grand Prix Season Singapore 2026 programme, so it is part of the race-season calendar, not a random gallery booking that happens to share the week. The Fondazione Dino Zoli says its earlier Singapore programmes looked at light, artificial intelligence and quantum science. This year it has moved on to how things flow.

Who Made It

Curator Nadia Stefanel has pulled together eight artists, a mix of names working in and beyond Singapore:

  • John Marie Andrada
  • Sabrina Casadei
  • Wolfgang Flad
  • Serena Fineschi
  • John Leong
  • Roberto Maria Lino
  • Weiqi Neo
  • Shih Yun Yeo

Supporting partners include the Italian Embassy in Singapore, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and LASALLE College of the Arts. The Italian Embassy, one of the show’s backers, says art, science and technology together offer a deeper way of understanding continuous change. In the Embassy’s own report on the exhibition, Ambassador Dante Brandi called that combination “particularly interesting”.

Hours, Price and Where to Find It

The Fondazione Dino Zoli lists the exhibition as open 10am to 8pm daily from Thursday, 8 October to Tuesday, 13 October 2026. That ten-hour window is generous. It means you can drop in on a weekday lunch break or after work, not only on the weekend.

  • Price: free
  • Tickets: none needed, so you can turn up when the mood hits
  • Address: The Arts House, 1 Old Parliament Lane, Singapore 179429

The 12 October Talk

The Italian Embassy is scheduled to host a discussion called Everything Flows on 12 October, carrying the exhibition’s science-and-art theme beyond the gallery walls.

  • Date: 12 October
  • Time: not yet published
  • How to attend: not yet published

Until those details appear, treat it as a bonus rather than the reason to go.

When to Go

Our take: this is for anyone who finds the aerodynamics talk on race broadcasts secretly fascinating, and for art fans who rarely get a free, centrally located group show with this many international names.

  • Best pick: Monday, 12 October or Tuesday, 13 October. The race weekend is over by then and the Civic District calms down. The show closes on the 13th, so Tuesday is your last chance.
  • During race weekend: a late morning visit on Friday, 9 October gets you in and out well before First Practice at 4.30pm. Check the session timings in our Singapore Grand Prix 2026 guide before you plan around them.

So, Which One Should You Pick?

For the free day out: F-LUX is free and needs no ticket, which settles that quickly.

For a Civic District afternoon: pair F-LUX with a museum nearby. If you’re already planning the new Singapore History Gallery, it makes a natural double bill, and our Things to Do in Singapore This October 2026 list has more ideas for the rest of the month.

If you can do only one thing: go to F-LUX. Art’s Fluid Space on Monday or Tuesday. It’s free, it’s open until 8pm, it needs zero planning, and it gives race week a thoughtful side you won’t find in a merchandise queue. Head to The Arts House at 1 Old Parliament Lane before it closes on 13 October, and if you’re still sorting out the rest of your weekend, our Singapore Grand Prix 2026 guide has the tickets, zones and timings covered. Water, air and time, all for free, in one of the city’s grandest old buildings: that is a good trade for an afternoon!
