No More Trekking to Joo Chiat: Hello Arigato’s Big Fish Sando Is Now at All 6 Outlets

If your favourite Hello Arigato order has always lived at the outlet furthest from home, October has good news: since Thursday, 1 October 2026, the homegrown café has been running one refreshed menu across all six of its Singapore outlets. That puts the Big Fish Sando (S$22), once exclusive to Joo Chiat and Cross Street, on the menu everywhere.

The menu marks the café’s fifth year. Hello Arigato opened in 2021 along Upper Thomson with a small team and a handful of Japanese-inspired sandos, which are sandwiches built on soft Japanese milk bread. It has since added outlets in Joo Chiat, Everton Park, Bukit Timah, Tiong Bahru, and Cross Street.

Five Years of Listening

Why refresh now? In Hello Arigato’s own words, the menu became “another way of listening” over those five years.

The people behind the menu have also been together longer than the café has existed: the founders ran a food and beverage business through the COVID-19 pandemic, and when that concept ended, they started again in 2021 with the same team.

Start With the Big Fish

The Big Fish Sando is the one to order first. It stacks crispy halibut fish katsu with pickled onions, shredded cabbage, Japanese tartar sauce, tobiko mayo, and American cheddar between slices of soft Japanese milk bread.

It sits among the eight best-performing sandos that anchor the refreshed line-up, next to two long-running crowd favourites: the Chicken Katsu Sando (S$16) and the Truffle & Egg Sando (S$18). The Chicken Katsu is the gentlest way in at S$6 less, but the fish is the one that used to demand a specific trip, and that makes it the real prize here.

Pastas Get a Tune-Up

Two familiar pastas come back with tweaks instead of total makeovers. The Hokkaido Milk Udon Carbonara (S$20) tosses chewy Sanuki udon in a creamier, more savoury miso carbonara sauce, with pancetta, caramelised leeks, egg yolk, and Parmigiano Reggiano along for the ride.

The Kurobuta Ragu Pasta (S$22) is a reworked version of the café’s Kurobuta Pork Ragu, and the big change is the shape. Rigatoni is out and ribbons of mafalda are in, chosen to catch more of the slow-cooked pork ragu, confit garlic, and tomato sauce. Stracciatella cheese, basil coulis, and chervil go on top.

Of the two, the udon is the more interesting update, since miso in a carbonara is a small swap that promises a deeper, more savoury bowl. The ragu’s new pasta is a quieter change, though anyone who has chased sauce around a plate will see the logic.

Meet the PPP

The only entirely new pasta has the best name on the menu: the PPP aka Pistachio Pesto Pasta (S$18). It’s al dente spaghetti in a rich, nutty pesto made with pistachio, fresh basil, and Parmigiano Reggiano, finished with slices of Parma ham.

There’s a vegetarian rendition too, alongside a meat-free version of the udon carbonara. For a mixed table of meat eaters and vegetarians, that makes the pasta page the easiest place to begin.

Cola in Your Coffee?

The drinks list gathers the café’s best-selling matcha and coffee orders, then adds a new Coffee Series built around beans roasted in-house. The Snowy Mont Blanc (S$8) is a 24-hour cold brew under a light, airy cream top, while the Coffee Cola Cloud (S$8) pairs coffee with cola and finishes it with the brand’s signature Cloud-style foam. Coffee and cola, in one cup? If the recent International Coffee Day deals left you wanting something stranger than a flat white, this is the one to split with a friend.

For the middle of the table there’s the new Arigato Fried Chicken (S$10), crispy chicken seasoned with a 10-spice house blend and served with a creamy wasabi ranch sauce for a subtle kick. It’s the lowest-priced food item mentioned here, and an easy add-on when a sando alone won’t cut it.

Plan Your Visit

One menu doesn’t mean one set of opening hours, so check before heading down. Only Upper Thomson, Bukit Timah, and Tiong Bahru stay open for dinner until 9pm.

Joo Chiat and Everton Park shut at 5pm daily, while Cross Street keeps office-crowd hours and lists no Sunday opening. All prices here are as listed by Hello Arigato. Hello Arigato also says it plans to hold more social events and pop-ups in its fifth year, for groups ranging from fitness enthusiasts to pet owners.
