The hardest part of the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 is the trip home after the last song, when the roads are shut and the final train is under an hour away. Roads around the Marina Centre and Padang area are closed from 7 to 13 October 2026, trains run later on 9 to 11 October, and the Circuit Park has eight gates, each with its own drop-off name. This guide is for ticket holders going by train, anyone being dropped off at a gate, and anyone who works or eats in the area that week. All times are Singapore time.

What Closes, and When
The closures have been in place since 12.01am on Wednesday 7 October 2026, and they run until 5.30am on Tuesday 13 October 2026. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) says the week is needed to set up and remove the race infrastructure. Its news release says: “Affected roads will close from 12.01am on 7 October 2026. All affected roads will be fully opened by 5.30am on 13 October 2026.”
According to The Straits Times’ report of LTA’s statement of 4 September, the roads affected include Raffles Avenue, Raffles Boulevard, Esplanade Drive, and St Andrew’s Road. The word to notice is include, because the list isn’t presented as complete. Drivers should go by the road access maps on LTA’s OneMotoring page instead.
After the race, the roads reopen in phases. That means Monday 12 October is still a closure day, with every affected road only promised fully open by 5.30am the next morning.
LTA’s notice is the authority on all of this, and arrangements can change, so read it again on the day you travel.
Take the Train, Says LTA
LTA doesn’t hedge on this one: “Members of the public and F1 ticket holders are strongly encouraged to take public transport to get to the Marina Centre and Padang area from 7 to 13 October 2026.”
Taxis are allowed into the Marina Centre at all times, except when F1 track activities are underway, and private hire cars may only pick up and drop off at designated roads. LTA’s road access guide has the timings and locations, so check it before booking a ride.
For anyone who works nearby, the kinder news is on foot: LTA says all pedestrian underpasses and overhead bridges will remain open.
Friday 9 October
The organiser’s FAQ has the Circuit Park opening at 1.30pm for Zone 1 and Zone 2 (Gates 1, 2 and 8) and at 2pm for Zone 4 (Gates 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 6 and 7).
On track, Sprint Qualifying runs from 8.30pm to 9.14pm. Then comes the long stretch to the headliner, with JJ Lin’s set ending at 11.45pm.
LTA says the last trains on the North-South Line (NSL) and East-West Line (EWL) will depart from City Hall MRT station at 12.30am on 9 and 10 October and 12.45am on 11 October. That leaves 45 minutes between the final note and the final train on Friday, so staying for the encore means knowing your exit before it starts.

Saturday 10 October: The Killers
The organiser’s FAQ has the Circuit Park opening at 2.15pm. Qualifying runs from 9pm to 10pm, and The Killers end at 11.45pm.
The train numbers are a carbon copy of Friday’s. The last NSL and EWL trains leave City Hall MRT at 12.30am, which is the same 45-minute window. If Friday’s exit went smoothly, repeat it. If it didn’t, Saturday is the night to leave your spot a song early!

Sunday 11 October: Race Night
The organiser’s FAQ has the Circuit Park opening at 3pm. The Race runs from 8pm to 10pm, and Lana Del Rey closes the weekend with a set ending at 11.55pm.
Trains stretch a little further to match. The last NSL and EWL trains leave City Hall MRT at 12.45am, which gives 50 minutes after the last set, the longest window of the three nights.

8 Gates
The organiser’s event guide gives each gate a drop-off name and no station. The station pairings below are LTA’s, from the walking routes table on its OneMotoring page:
- Gate 1 (Republic Boulevard): Nicoll Highway (Circle Line)
- Gate 2 (Temasek Avenue): Promenade (Circle and Downtown Lines)
- Gates 3A and 3B (Stamford): City Hall (North-South and East-West Lines) and Esplanade (Circle Line)
- Gates 4 (Empress), 5 (Fullerton) and 6 (Jubilee): Raffles Place (North-South and East-West Lines)
- Gate 7 (Marina Square): City Hall (North-South and East-West Lines) and Esplanade (Circle Line)
- Gate 8 (Helix): Bayfront (Circle and Downtown Lines)
The 12.30am and 12.45am times are the last North-South and East-West Line trains leaving City Hall, which is not your own line’s last train. For the other lines, LTA says only that hours “will also be extended”, with no times, except for the Changi Airport service: check your own line before the music starts, rather than at the fare gate.
Which Night to Plan Hardest
Friday and Saturday are twins: the last set ends at 11.45pm and the last City Hall train leaves at 12.30am on both. Then there are the early leavers, who walk out after the cars at 9.14pm on Friday or 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, well clear of any last-train maths.
If only one night gets a proper plan, make it Sunday. It has the latest finish of the three at 11.55pm and Monday morning follows with the roads still in their closure week. Fifty minutes sounds generous until thousands of people want the same platform!
For tickets, zones, and everything happening off the circuit, the Singapore Grand Prix 2026 guide has the rest. Before leaving home on any of the three nights, open LTA’s news release once more and check your line’s last train. Then go and enjoy the loudest weekend of Singapore’s year!
