Friday, 9 October 2026 is when the Singapore Grand Prix turns loud, with First Practice at 4.30pm, Sprint Qualifying at 8.30pm, and stages that carry on to a 10.30pm headliner, with Milky Chance at 9.30pm. Away from Marina Bay, three malls are running race simulators, a LEGO F1 pit stop, and a show car on Orchard Road, and none of them asks for a race ticket.
So this guide works two ways. Ticket holders can use it to plot an evening around the stages, while the sim racers, LEGO families, and Orchard wanderers can take a slice of race week without a pass.

New Era’s Williams Simulators, Bugis Junction
The New Era store at Bugis Junction has been turned over to the Atlassian Williams F1 Team, with two Williams-branded racing pods parked side by side on the shop floor. You get three laps, the fastest times win New Era x Atlassian Williams F1 Team merchandise, and everyone else walks away knowing exactly how far off the pace they are.

The rigs are proper bucket seats with a steering wheel controller and headphones, so this sits closer to a real sim session than an arcade cabinet. The activation is listed through race Sunday, 11 October, which puts Friday comfortably inside the window.
This one suits the friend who insists they’d be quick if someone gave them a seat. Go in the afternoon, well before the 4.30pm practice session pulls the F1 crowd towards Marina Bay, and confirm the store’s hours before making a late trip.

Friday on Track, Hour by Hour
Inside the Marina Bay Street Circuit, the day opens with First Practice from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, then the cars go quiet for three hours while the stages take over. Split Enz play the Wharf Stage in Zone 1 at 7.15pm, and K-pop group CORTIS are on the Padang Stage in Zone 4 at 7.30pm. Those two overlap in different zones, so check which zones your ticket opens, then pick one and commit.
Sprint Qualifying runs from 8.30pm to 9.14pm, and JJ Lin closes the Padang Stage at 10.30pm. The full stage-by-stage breakdown covers the rest of the weekend’s music.
Getting there is a public transport job. Roads around Marina Centre and the Padang are closed from 7 to 13 October, and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is steering everyone towards trains and buses. MRT and selected bus services run later on 9 to 11 October, though SBS Transit has said 37 bus services are affected by the closures, so check your usual route before you leave.
Milky Chance at 9.30pm
Milky Chance, the German indie-pop duo behind Stolen Dance, go on at 9.30pm on Friday, 9 October. That’s 16 minutes after Sprint Qualifying is scheduled to end, so the smart move is to watch the session from somewhere you can leave quickly. There’s more on the band in this earlier Milky Chance preview.

Check the organiser’s ticket page for how the set is ticketed, what Friday entry costs and what is left.
For anyone who cares more about the music than the lap times, Friday is the value night of the weekend, because Friday brings a practice session, a qualifying session, and a run of stage acts that ends past 10.30pm.

LEGO’s F1 Pit Stop, Suntec City
LEGO F1 Experience the Thrill at Suntec City is the easiest yes here, because it’s listed as free and built around a centrepiece worth the trip alone. That’s the life-sized LEGO F1 car which, by LEGO’s billing, drove at Miami.
Around the car sits a pit stop hub running from 1 to 18 October 2026, split into zones. The Speed Zone has racing simulators and photo spots, and the Gear-up Zone is a timed LEGO steering-wheel building challenge (30 seconds). The Sprint Zone keeps a leaderboard under red LED screens, and the Victory Zone is a photo booth for the group shot.
Browsing costs nothing, but the shopping is where it gets tempting. LEGO Speed Champions sets are 15% off when you buy two and 20% off for three, an offer available only at the event. Spending S$89 earns a LEGO Speed Champions Mini F1 Academy Car, S$150 a LEGO Tyre Key Chain, and S$249 a LEGO Brick Sling Bag.
Families with primary-school kids should make this the Friday plan, ideally in the afternoon before the after-work crowd arrives. Adults who’ve been eyeing a Speed Champions set should do the maths on the three-set discount before walking in, because that S$89 tier arrives quickly.

Live the Race at ION Orchard
The mall’s key visual puts a Visa Cash App Racing Bulls show car outside the atrium on Orchard Road and promises driver appearances, simulator challenges, and TUDOR watches across Race Week.

ION is the pick for anyone already in town on Friday evening who’d like a show car photo without crossing the island. Get the photo outside the atrium first, take a turn on the simulators, then go to dinner, since the car and the simulators are the kind of stop that fills half an hour. Skip it as a standalone trip unless a driver appearance lands on your day. For the wider Orchard Road programme, along with the other pop-ups and driver meet-and-greets around the island, use the Singapore Grand Prix hub guide.

If You Only Do One
How Friday splits depends on what you’re holding. Inside the gates, the day runs from First Practice through Sprint Qualifying to Milky Chance and JJ Lin. For a mall day with no race ticket, Suntec City’s LEGO pit stop is the anchor, with ION Orchard’s show car as the after-dinner stop. For anyone chasing a lap time, New Era’s Williams pods at Bugis Junction and the simulators in Suntec’s Speed Zone make a tidy double-header.
The single pick is Milky Chance at 9.30pm. It’s the only thing here that exists on Friday alone, while the malls are still running on Saturday. Without a race ticket, make it the LEGO car at Suntec, because a life-sized LEGO F1 car is a sight even for people who can’t name a single driver.
However the night shapes up, sort out the route first and the outfit second. The Singapore Grand Prix 2026 guide has the tickets, zones, and everything else happening across race week, so open it before you head out.
