Singapore GP 2026: What to Do on Thursday 8 October

The Formula 1 (F1) Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 doesn’t begin until Friday 9 October, but Thursday 8 October is already full. A decommissioned F1 car is unveiled in Tampines, a team boss turns up at Marina Square, and pop-ups run across five city-centre malls. Almost all of it asks for no race ticket and no booking, which makes Thursday the easiest day of race week to walk straight into!

This one is for fans who missed out on grandstand seats, visitors who landed early, families in the east, and anyone who would rather try a pit stop challenge than watch one on a screen.

Tampines Gets a Decommissioned F1 Car

F1 Celebration @ OTH opens at Our Tampines Hub (OTH) on Thursday at 6.30pm, when Stradalé Singapore unveils a decommissioned F1 car at Festive Walk West. The Daytona Champion Simulator starts up at the same hour, alongside a Kindness Pledge Wall run with the Singapore Kindness Movement, where anyone can write down a commitment to being kinder. Guest-of-Honour Minister David Neo will be on site that evening.

Everything here is open to the public with no registration, a relief for anyone who lost out in a ballot this year. The simulator carries on from 12pm on 9 to 11 October, and the Festive Plaza main stage screens Qualifying on Saturday 10 October at 9pm and the Race on Sunday 11 October at 8pm, both free and subject to actual race timings. For anyone living in the heartlands (Singapore’s residential towns) out east, this is the strongest no-ticket plan of the week.

📅 8 to 11 Oct; from 6.30pm on 8 Oct, from 12pm on 9 to 11 Oct · 📍 Festive Walk West and Festive Plaza, Our Tampines Hub · 💰 Free screenings · 🎟 No registration needed

Quadrant x Alex Albon at Bugis+

Quadrant, the content and lifestyle brand founded by Lando Norris, has teamed up with Formula 1 driver Alex Albon for a pop-up at the Level 2 Atrium of Bugis+. It has been open since Tuesday 6 October and runs from 10am to 10pm on Thursday. The draw is the limited-edition Garage 23 clothing collection, with pieces inspired by Albon’s helmet designs across his seven years in F1.

Alex Albon’s pop-up at the Level 2 Atrium runs 6 to 11 October, with merchandise sold only on-site

That collection is sold only on-site, so this is the shopping stop to put first if merchandise is the mission. Bugis Junction’s Fountain Square next door has F1 merchandise pop-ups with caps, jackets, and T-shirts from the teams, and those stay open until 12 October, a day after the chequered flag.

📅 6 to 11 Oct; 10am to 10pm on Thu 8 Oct · 📍 Level 2 Atrium, Bugis+ · 🎟 No ticket needed

INNERDRIVE® at Plaza Singapura

INNERDRIVE®: The Performance Circuit, powered by MEURAKI, swaps cars for people: six interactive challenges test reaction, focus, and decision-making, and each visitor leaves with a Performance Profile. It sits at the L1 Outdoor Plaza of Plaza Singapura from 10am to 10pm. The INNERDRIVE® Passport, which earns Race Points at retailers such as Haidilao and the LEGO® Certified Store, is free.

Daily prizes have been running since 2 October, and they include a two-night treehouse stay for two at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, which CapitaLand values at approximately S$3,800. This is the stop for the friend who doesn’t care about lap times but will happily compete at anything.

📅 28 Sep to 11 Oct, 10am to 10pm · 📍 L1 Outdoor Plaza, Plaza Singapura · 💰 INNERDRIVE® Passport is free · 🎟 No ticket needed

Williams Fan Zone, Marina Square

The Williams Fan Zone at Marina Square’s Central Atrium has free entry and two timed appearances on Thursday: TZUYU at 11.30am, then team principal James Vowles at 6.30pm. No other walk-in on the day puts an actual team boss in the room, which is reason enough for Williams fans to plan the evening around it.

Getting there by car is a bad idea. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has roads around Marina Centre and the Padang closed from 7 to 13 October, so public transport is the sensible way in.

📅 Thu 8 Oct; TZUYU 11.30am, James Vowles 6.30pm · 📍 Central Atrium, Marina Square · 💰 Free entry

Off The Grid at Funan

Off The Grid by adidas & Audi parks the all-new Audi RS 5 and the Audi R26 Showcar in the Level 1 Atrium of Funan, with interactive activations around the Audi Revolut F1® Team and rewards to redeem.

Timing matters at this one. Thursday is the last day to see the R26 Showcar in its regular look, because it returns in a special local-inspired livery from 9 to 11 October. Anyone who wants the Singapore paint job should hold this stop for Friday instead.

adidas x Mercedes at Raffles City

The adidas x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Pop-up at Raffles City Singapore pairs a Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One W17 replica with simulator challenges. It carries the Vanda Bloom collection too, which was designed specifically for the Singapore race.

Breitling’s Pop-Up, Same Mall

The Breitling x Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Pop-Up is also at Raffles City and lays out the watchmaker’s latest collection next to a racing simulator and a reaction challenge.

Thursday is the quiet window here. Bang Chan of Stray Kids makes a special appearance on Saturday 10 October at 11am, so watch browsers should come before then and his fans should come back for it.

Beyond The Track, Clarke Quay

Ray-Ban presents: Beyond The Track brings the Scuderia Ferrari Collection to Fountain Square at CQ @ Clarke Quay, with limited and special edition eyewear to browse. The activities are the fun part: Race Simulators, a Pit Stop Challenge, and a Reflex Test, each with a chance to win exclusive merchandise.

This pop-up runs until 14 October, three days past the race, so it’s the safest one to push back if Thursday fills up. It is the riverside option for a later start too, when the day has cooled down.

📅 1 to 14 Oct · 📍 Fountain Square, CQ @ Clarke Quay · 🎟 No ticket needed

Orchard Paddock, Ngee Ann City

Orchard Paddock opens on Thursday at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, 391A Orchard Road, and runs for three nights with live performances, an open-air supper area, and film screenings. Its hours are 4pm to midnight with free admission, which makes it a place to head in the evening.

Orchard has a second Thursday draw in George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, who appear at the adidas Brand Centre Orchard at 270 Orchard Road. The details are in the guide to the Mercedes drivers’ Orchard appearance.

Pit Lane Experience: Ballot Winners Only

One Thursday event is not a walk-in. The Thursday Pit Lane Experience lets up to 4,500 Singapore citizens and permanent residents walk the pit lane at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, see the team garages and cars, and visit the Zone 1 F1 Village until 11pm.

It needs no race ticket, but entry is by public ballot only, and that ballot closed on 18 September with each winner receiving a pair of tickets. Everyone else should skip the trip to the circuit gates and choose from the stops above.

📅 Thu 8 Oct · 📍 Marina Bay Street Circuit · 🎟 Ballot closed on 18 Sep

One Thursday, Three Ways

A daytime mall crawl: Quadrant x Alex Albon at Bugis+ and INNERDRIVE® at Plaza Singapura both open at 10am, the Williams Fan Zone has TZUYU at 11.30am, and Funan and Raffles City fill the afternoon.

A late night out: Beyond The Track at CQ @ Clarke Quay first, then Orchard Paddock until midnight.

Families and east-siders: F1 Celebration @ OTH at 6.30pm, with the free screenings on Saturday and Sunday to come back for.

The catch is that 6.30pm is both the car unveiling in Tampines and James Vowles at Marina Square, so it’s one or the other. With time for only one thing, make it Our Tampines Hub. It has an F1 car that once raced, it needs no registration, and the same spot becomes a free place to watch the race on Sunday.

For everything from Friday’s First Practice onwards, the Singapore Grand Prix 2026 Guide has the tickets, zones, and watch parties. Our Tampines Hub posts updates on its Facebook and Instagram pages, and CapitaLand Malls does the same on Instagram. Race week starts a day early this year, and most of Thursday costs nothing!
