If the grimy, pulsing synths of TRON: Ares followed you out of the cinema, you’ve already heard him at work. On 24 September 2026, the producer announced 7LLVSION, his first solo album in five years. It’s out 6 November 2026 on his own label, ONES and ZEROS.

The first single, “1+1+1” with Rotterdam artist ZEP, came out on announcement day. It’s loud, sweaty and deliberately hard to pin down. The wider guest list pulls in Brutalismus 3000, TAICHU, Maya Alkhatari, ABRA and more, so the rest of the record is shaping up to be every bit as rowdy as its opening shot.
Who Is Boys Noize, Anyway?
Boys Noize is the stage name of Alex Ridha, a German-Iraqi DJ, producer and composer. He has spent two decades moving between sweaty techno basements and very large stages. His studio credits read like a group chat you’d never be added to: songs for A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver and Lady Gaga, plus remixes for Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and Tame Impala.
He’s a film composer too. He scored the German hacker thriller Who Am I (2014) and Oliver Stone’s Snowden (2016), and he performs with Skrillex as the duo Dog Blood. That range is the whole point of him. He’s a producer who can hold a techno crowd and a pop audience without watering down the sound for either.
The Year Everything Got Bigger
Ridha spent 2025 and 2026 performing alongside Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross throughout Nine Inch Nails’ Peel It Back tour. He co-produced nearly the entire TRON: Ares soundtrack with the pair. That includes “As Alive As You Need Me To Be”, a track the album announcement describes as GRAMMY-winning.
The three of them then made it official as Nine Inch Noize, a mash-up of the two names. The project debuted at Coachella in Indio, California, on 11 April 2026. It returned for the festival’s second weekend and released a self-titled album on 17 April 2026. For anyone who only knew Nine Inch Nails as their older cousin’s band, this was a pretty convincing argument that industrial rock and club music belong in the same room.
After Coachella came a summer of club nights and festival main stages across several continents. Plenty of artists would have followed that with a safe, radio-friendly solo record. He chose to go noisier instead, and that choice is what makes 7LLVSION interesting.
1+1+1, Explained
ZEP is a Dutch multi-instrumentalist who came up through Rotterdam’s underground rave scene. He built a loyal following there by throwing his own FUGAZZI parties. He started out as a drummer and DJ before turning singer-songwriter, and his sound mixes rap, punk, hardcore, techno and R&B. He writes, produces, co-directs and edits much of his own work. His latest project, NO ENEMIES, came out on PULSE Records.
On “1+1+1”, ZEP plays ringmaster. He snarls, wails and shouts over the beat while the lyrics hint at a party guest list that has spiralled out of control. Underneath him sits a heavy EBM (electronic body music) bassline. EBM is the stompy, industrial-leaning style that makes a crowd move like one big machine, and this bassline keeps shifting key so it never quite settles.
The drums lean towards jittery 1980s new wave rather than a steady techno thump. The classic four-on-the-floor kick drum, the one that keeps most dance tracks ticking, only shows up when the song swings from mosh pit to dancefloor. It feels like two songs fighting over one speaker, and the fight is the fun part.
A Guest List Worth Reading
7LLVSION is Ridha’s eighth solo album and his first since +/- in 2021. The full tracklist isn’t out yet, so the named guests are the best clue to where the rest of the record is heading.
Two names stand out. Brutalismus 3000 already has history with Ridha, who has crafted songs for the Berlin duo, so their spot on the album reads like a reunion with proven chemistry. ZEP is the other, and if “1+1+1” is any guide, he’s the wildcard who could steal the album.
The line-up fits the mission Ridha has set for ONES and ZEROS, which focuses on a new generation of talent from both the Global North and South. If Charli XCX’s BRAT was your way into club music, as we wrote in our breakdown of that album, this crowd is where the harder edge of that sound lives.
