Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park has always been the place you go to walk off a bad week. What it hasn’t had in a while is somewhere to sit down afterwards that moves at the same speed.
That changes on 14 September 2026, when Shared Table opens inside the park at 1382 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. The café is built around one stubborn premise: you’re not in a hurry, and the room shouldn’t pretend otherwise.
Two Names You Might Already Know
The café is a joint venture between Jerls Su, the entrepreneur behind Jalan Besar café Average Service, and Jazreel Low, Spa Director of Aramsa – The Garden Spa, the garden spa tucked into the same park.
Su’s track record takes in Average Service, Potato Head, ChaTraMue, and the first Keongsaik Carnival. Average Service pulls thousands of Google reviews at around 4.7 stars, which for a Singapore café is the sort of number that keeps a weekend queue alive. Low has owned Aramsa in Bishan Park since 2006, so she has spent nearly two decades watching how people behave once you give them permission to slow down.

Put those two CVs side by side and Shared Table stops looking like a random café opening. It reads like a spa director and a café operator arriving at the same idea from opposite ends.
One Soup, Three Dishes, No Fuss
The centrepiece is the Nourish Plate, priced from S$21.90. It runs on Ichiju Sansai (一汁三菜), the Japanese principle of “one soup, three dishes” that treats balance as the default setting rather than a wellness upsell.
Here’s how it works. Pick one grain, one protein, two sides, and the soup of the day. No agonising over a 40-item menu while your friend’s coffee goes cold.

Grains include Lemon Herbed Rice, short grain tossed with dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, and olive oil, and Couscous with Furikake and Kombu, cooked in kombu stock with wakame. Cold Buckwheat Soba with tsuyu and Udon with Miso Soup fill out the rest.
The protein list is where it gets interesting. Ginger Sesame Oil Chicken Thigh arrives oven-roasted to a caramelised finish under fried ginger strips. There’s a Hainanese Sous Vide Chicken Breast glossed with homemade soy sauce, a Lemongrass Chicken Thigh finished with Thai chilli sauce, and a Honey Glazed Goji Smoked Duck rendered until the skin cracks.
Seafood gets Crispy Miso Salmon and Baked Halibut with Capsicum Escabeche. Vegetarians get the Gong Bao Lions Mane Mushroom, a mildly spicy Sichuan-style plate that beats the afterthought salad most kitchens offer. Every item comes à la carte too, so the format is a suggestion, not a cage.

The Sides Are Doing Real Work
Sides go from Spicy Bonito Sprouts and Edamame to Corn Succotash, Couscous Salad with Sesame Dressing, Mentai Potato Salad, Gong Bao Tempeh with Cashew Nuts, and a Truffle Pasta Mushroom Salad that has no business being this indulgent on a mindful-eating menu. Soup of the day rotates through creamy pumpkin, lobster bisque, miso, mushroom, and ABC soup, the tomato, potato, and carrot broth every Singaporean household makes when someone is unwell.
Beyond the Nourish Plate, the café menu carries Grilled Chicken Skewers (S$14.90) with housemade tzatziki and warm pita, and Hummus with Roasted Mushroom (S$18.90) under a mound of sautéed shimeji. Dessert is a Protein Pancake with Caramelised Banana (S$17.90) carrying 32g of protein, gula melaka palm sugar, and peanut butter sauce, or Coconut Ice Cream with Chopped Peanut (S$5.90) for something smaller. All prices sit before goods and services tax (GST) and service charge.
Coffee, Herbal Tea, Gin After Dark
Drinks lean local. Coffee comes roasted by Brawn and Brains and blended for Shared Table (from S$6.50), matcha starts at the same price, and herbal teas (from S$7) come from homegrown label Tily Tea Singapore.

The tea names are unapologetically on brand. The Evening Calm pairs lavender and chamomile, The Deep Cleanse works off burdock root with a soft rose finish, and Radiant Glow blends Solomon Seal with red clover. If you have ever got weirdly invested in a matcha latte’s zen credentials, this list is aimed squarely at you.
Then the day turns. Cocktails are mixed in-house and poured from opening, including the Thai Basil Gimlet (S$18) of gin, Thai basil, lemongrass, and chilli padi, the small chilli that does most of the heavy lifting in Singaporean kitchens, and The Golden Mango (S$21), a tequila sipper with turmeric, mango, and chilli. A park café pouring proper cocktails after dark is what lifts this past a post-jog pit stop.
Sage by Day, Maroon by Night
The interior pulls the park indoors: earthy mottled flooring, wooden furniture, a sage green palette, and floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the room with daylight while baristas work in full view of the counter.

At the centre sits a communal table made from upcycled local timber sourced from Timber Actually. That’s the whole concept in one piece of furniture, a table you might end up sharing with a stranger.
Come evening, a maroon lounge area takes over for dinners and slower conversations. The alfresco section stays pet-friendly throughout, so your dog gets a seat at the table instead of a tie-up by the railing. Seating capacity is 110.
What Came Before This Spot
This unit has history. Canopy Garden Dining held the same site for roughly 16 years before the tenancy changed hands, and Aramsa has been the constant next door the entire time.

That context matters, because Shared Table isn’t parachuting into unfamiliar ground. Low knows this park’s rhythms, its weekend crowds, and its dead-quiet Tuesday afternoons better than almost anyone in the food and beverage trade, which is useful knowledge when you’re opening a 110-seat café inside it.
Looking further out, the team plans a retail corner stocking local produce and in-house brews, plus Sunday markets, workshops, and tie-ups with fitness and wellness partners. That’s the part worth watching. Neighbourhood programming is how a café becomes a fixture, the way Singapore’s first Starbucks community store built itself around a garden partnership rather than a menu.

A café that asks you to stay longer only works if you take it up on the offer. Set a reminder for 14 September 2026, note the Tuesday closures through that first month, and if an Aramsa massage is already in the diary, stack the 15% off and make a full afternoon of it. Shared Table posts its menu updates, opening-week details, and the first Sunday market dates to @Sharedtableworld, which is where to look before you make the trip out to Bishan.
