Every group chat has one: the Vietnam trip that has been “happening” since 2023. Someone drops a Da Nang reel, three people react with fire, and the plan dies in the scroll. The excuse is almost always money.

Vietjet has launched a three day 9.9 sale with Eco fares from S$86 one-way, taxes and fees included, across its domestic and international network. Direct Singapore to Vietnam routes are in it. Bookings close at the end of 10 September 2026 (GMT+8), and only through the Vietjet website or its mobile app.
What S$86 Gets You
Eco is Vietjet’s basic economy product, and it behaves like one. Independent reviews of the fare describe a seat plus roughly 7kg of cabin baggage, with checked bags, seat selection and meals sold separately. Budget accordingly, because a 20kg bag and a window seat can quietly close the gap between a sale fare and a normal one.
The travel window is the genuinely useful part. Flights booked in this sale can be taken between 10 September 2026 and 10 September 2027, though flight periods vary by route and blackout dates apply over public holidays and peak seasons. A year of runway means the September pay cheque books a March trip.

S$86 Against the Usual Fares
Here is the context nobody puts in a sale graphic. Fare comparisons for 2026 shoulder months put Scoot and Jetstar Asia economy base fares on Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City somewhere around S$105 to S$175, with Vietjet’s own everyday headline prices often landing between S$90 and S$160 one-way on the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi runs.
So S$86 all-in is not a fantasy number, but it does sit near the floor of what that route normally costs. That is the whole appeal: this is flash-sale pricing you get to spend twelve months from now.
The S$86 figure itself is a returning character. Vietjet ran the same headline price in a week-long Singapore promotion announced on 31 July 2026, and again in its October 2025 “Vietnam is Calling” campaign, which offered S$86 all-in Eco seats every Friday for travel through May 2026. What has changed is the shape of the deal: a shorter window to book, a much longer window to fly.
Nha Trang Joins in December
Right now, Vietjet flies direct from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Phu Quoc, which already covers the city break, the food pilgrimage and the beach reset.
From 11 December 2026, Nha Trang joins that list with four round trips a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It is a slower, seaside kind of place, and the Monday and Friday timings make a long weekend workable without burning half your annual leave. For anyone who plans holidays around the camera roll, the coastline is the pitch, and a 360° FPV drone does more with it than a phone held at arm’s length.
The Route Map Keeps Growing
Beyond Vietnam, Vietjet is adding services connecting the country to Cebu, Clark, Chiang Mai, Osaka, Almaty and Prague. A Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney service via Western Sydney International Airport starts in January 2027. Closer to home, Hanoi to Tainan begins on 25 October with four round trips a week.
Read that list as an itinerary rather than a press note. Vietnam stops being the whole holiday and becomes the cheap first hop, which is how a lot of long-haul plans quietly get affordable.
Before You Tap Book
A few things worth knowing. Vietjet holds a seven-star safety rating from airlineratings.com and is an IATA (International Air Transport Association) member with IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certification, which is the industry’s own audit standard rather than a marketing line.
On reliability, a 2026 review aggregating TripAdvisor, Skytrax and Trustpilot feedback scores the airline 9/10 on ticket price and puts on-time performance near 73%. That is the low-cost bargain in one sentence: leave buffer on either side of the flight, and never book the sale fare with a tight onward connection.
The food is the part people forget to expect. Vietjet serves freshly prepared hot meals on board, including pho, banh mi and Vietnamese iced milk coffee, which is a sua da that hits differently at cruising altitude.
