Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 set up tech-tember

Samsung provided us with some early September tech news, announcing their newest devices – the highlights being the Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 series.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is this year’s Fan Edition phone, and, like last year’s S24 FE, this iteration is presented as a more affordable option for customers while still offering features from the flagship series. The S25 FE is now slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, measuring just 7.4mm thin and weighing 190 grams. Additionally, the vapour chamber is now 10% larger. The front camera receives a slight upgrade to 12 megapixels, and the device supports faster 45W wired charging and 15W Qi wireless charging.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series sees a change in its line-up. Samsung has opted to take out the Plus version and instead, they have reintroduced k the base 11-inch option. The tablets are slimmer this year and have been updated with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Plus processor. While the S11 Ultra gets a small increase in battery capacity to 11,600mAh, the regular S11 remains at 8,400mAh. The biggest change goes to the S Pen stylus, which now has a new cone-shaped tip for more control and an updated hexagonal grip that is more ergonomic.
The devices are now widely available in Singapore, with the S25 FE starting at S$948, while the Tab S11 and S11 Ultra are priced starting at S$1,198 and S$1,698 respectively. You can read more about both devices, as well as other products Samsung has announced, via our hands-on coverage.
Lenovo Legion Go 2 unveiled
Two years ago, Lenovo entered the handheld gaming PC space with the Legion Go—a Nintendo Switch-like system that could detach its controllers. Now the company is back with its successor that bears some upgrades that people have been asking for.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 retains the ability to detach the controllers, but those same controllers now feature a new sculpted design that makes them more comfortable to hold. The display remains the same 8.8-inch size, but now features an OLED panel with the added benefit of a variable refresh rate ranging from 30 to 144Hz.
Internally, users have the option of equipping the Legion Go 2 with either the AMD Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme. More importantly, the handheld has a larger 74-watt-hour battery, which is about 50% larger than before.
It will, however, come at a hefty price. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 starts at US$1,099.99 with an AMD Z2 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. If you want it fully decked out, the price would be close to US$1,500. The handheld is slated for launch in October 2025.
New mainline Fire Emblem game Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave announced
The Fire Emblem series has been pretty quiet these days since the 2023 launch of Fire Emblem Engage, but that is set to change as Nintendo announced Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on their September Direct – a new mainline title.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave’s debut trailer shows us that the game will have a gladiator-like setting, with several brand new characters showcased. Although we don’t receive much information about the story, the trailer does hint at some form of tension that intertwines the characters.
The game is being developed for Nintendo Switch 2, and is slated to launch sometime in 2026
Apple’s iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air revealed

As always in September, Apple reveals the latest line-up of iPhones to much fanfare. However, while the iPhone 17 series was expected, we also received news about a brand new device – the iPhone Air.
We start with the iPhone 17 suite, which comes with the most significant changes we’ve seen in some time. The base iPhone 17 features a larger 6.3-inch screen that is also brighter, with a maximum screen brightness of 3,000 nits. It now comes with ProMotion, meaning it finally supports high refresh rates up to 120Hz. As for the iPhone 17 Pros, they receive a substantial redesign at the back with a rear camera ‘plateau’ that stretches across the width of the phone. Inside, the cameras now all have 48-megapixel sensors, with the telephoto capable of delivering up to 8x optical quality zoom. Apple has also included a vapour chamber in the middle of the device (a first for the iPhone), which provides better thermal performance.
But the biggest announcement goes to the iPhone Air. Like Samsung’s S25 Edge, Apple has made an absurdly slim smartphone for consumers. The phone is only 5.6mm thick and 165 grams, with a 6.5-inch ProMotion display to boot. However, the quest for thinness comes at a cost to the photography, as the iPhone Air only has space to include a single 48-megapixel camera. It’ll also have the smallest battery out of the new iPhones, though Apple does promise “all day” battery life, with up to 27 hours of video playback.
The iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air have already been released in Singapore. The iPhone 17 starts at S$1,299, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at S$1,749 and S$1,899 respectively. As for the iPhone Air, it launches at a starting price of S$1,599.
AirPods Pro 3 brings “World’s Best ANC”
Besides the phones, Apple also unveiled the long-awaited third-generation AirPods Pro, which comes with massive improvements.
The AirPods Pro 3 now feature new foam-infused ear tips, which Apple says will enable it to perform two times better ANC over the last model. Bass heads can also look forward to improved low-end performance, as the earbuds are equipped with a vent that allows air to flow. The earbuds are also more durable, with IP57 sweat and water resistance included.
Users get more functionality as well. There’s a new live translation feature that translates audio in-ear on the fly, with transcriptions displayed on your iPhone to communicate back and forth. A heart sensor has also been added that lets you track your vitals without the need for an Apple Watch.
The AirPods Pro 3 are available for purchase in Singapore at a price of S$349.
Insomniac’s Wolverine claws back into the spotlight
Insomniac Games’s Wolverine has been on the down low since its announcement (it had its reveal alongside the announcement of Spider-Man 2!), but now we finally get to see it in action as Sony unveiled a new trailer for the game at this month’s State of Play showcase.
The trailer showcased the first in-game footage of Wolverine, revealing that the game will indeed be very bloody, with Insomniac also stating that it’ll have “fast, fluid, and ferocious combat” alongside big set pieces. Logan is portrayed by actor Liam McIntyre (Spartacus: Vengeance and The Flash), and the game features an ensemble cast of characters, including Omega Red and Mystique. Wolverine will also sport his iconic yellow and black suit.
While this has been the first official gameplay we’ve seen of Wolverine, a portion of the game leaked to the public via the 2023 Rhysida hack, although it was in-development footage.
Marvel’s Wolverine is slated to launch in Fall 2026 for PlayStation 5, with Insomniac Games promising that more will be shown in Spring next year.
Xiaomi 17 series ends off September 2025
Not to be outdone by Apple, Xiaomi also unveiled its latest 17 series of phones—skipping the number 16 entirely.
The Xiaomi 17 series is the first line of smartphones to feature the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, but that isn’t the most unique thing about the devices. On the Pro and Pro Max versions, there is a display on the back of the phones where the camera “plateau” is, much like what Samsung does with the cover display on its Galaxy Z Flip series.
In terms of specs, the Xiaomi 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both are equipped with huge battery capacities as well, at 6,300mAh and 7,500mAh respectively. 100W charging is also supported. The rear camera system will have three 50-megapixel sensors, though the Pro Max has a larger sensor and a faster aperture for the telephoto camera.
Meanwhile, the regular Xiaomi 17 resembles a typical smartphone. It will bear a 6.3-inch display size and a similar 50-megapixel triple rear camera system. It also contains a 7,000mAh battery capacity, which is larger than even the Pro version.
Currently, the Xiaomi 17 series is only available to Chinese consumers. It was released on 27 September 2025 at a price of ¥4,499, 4,999, and ¥5,999 for the regular 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max respectively.
