It’s been 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare, and yet the world still continues to celebrate the legacy of one of the most revered playwrights ever. Be it events around the globe or online, it’s hard to miss out on the on the festivities and tributes to Shakespeare, especially with the #Shakespeare400 hashtag.
Singapore is no exception as well. From 27 April to 22 May, The Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) will be presenting “Romeo and Juliet” as part of their annual “Shakespeare in the Park” production. As the name suggests, the play won’t be held in a conventional theatre but out in the open – at Fort Canning Park. Some of SRT’s previous “Shakespeare in the Park” plays include “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Othello”.

Directed by Daniel Slater, get ready to feast your eyes on one of the world’s most iconic love stories under the night sky, which promises to be the outdoor theatrical play of the year!
