Get Into The F1 Spirit: Tanglin Gin Distillery Releases Limited Edition Gin for Singapore Grand Prix

As an avid Formula One fan and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of wines, spirits and everything in between, I never thought these two worlds would collide. That is until I found out about Tanglin Gin Distillery’s release of their Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin as part of the 2024 Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS).

As Singapore’s first craft distillery, Tanglin Gin Distillery is the subject of global renown. Having won over 50 international awards, their name carries immense respect in the local spirits community. When I learned they had made something for one of my favourite sports, I was ecstatic about this special release. Come along with me as I take you through why this new release is so exceptional!

The Spirit of the Spirit

Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin is a classic take on tropical gin with a Singaporean twist.

First and foremost, we have to begin with taste. The Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin was made as a beautiful homage to Singapore’s tropical essence, using fruity, floral, and herbal elements for a delightful, uniquely Singaporean taste profile. The experience opens first with the smells of a lush tropical paradise on a balmy sunset evening — scent notes of sweet mango and passionfruit, with a supporting cast of citrusy lime and orange rounding it out.

Your first sip begins with a refreshing overture of spunky pineapple backed up by that tropical mango flavour, followed by the same citrus smell, with an undertone of lemon balm that provides a unique herbal element to round out the taste experience.

To end off each sip, the refreshing lime and orange linger on your palate while the mango and pineapple fade into the background, leaving a fresh and sweet aftertaste. This makes it perfect for sipping neat or as a base for a wide variety of summer-themed, tropical cocktails!

Each Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin comes in an exclusively designed 500ml bottle.

Not only does the Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin feature fresh new flavours, as the highlight of Tanglin Gin Distillery’s signature event, ‘Turbo & Tonic, A Tropical Burnout on Dempsey Hill’, only 1000 bottles of Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin will be produced.

Each bottle is numbered individually, and every bottle in this series bears a unique label; it’s a collector’s dream! This exclusive edition is an absolute must-have for gin collectors and enthusiasts or even just passionate F1 fans such as myself!

If this excites the alcohol enthusiast in you, the Tanglin Limited Edition Tropical Gin will be available for purchase starting 12 September 2024 at 12pm only at Tanglin Gin Distillery, its official website, and Lotte Duty-Free stores at Changi Airport. In addition, it will be featured at The Jungle Bar, owned by Tanglin Gin Distillery!

F1 and Gin Get Personal with In-Depth Tours

The glitz of the Singapore Grand Prix in liquid form.

Beyond releasing a new gin flavour on 14, 17, 19 and 21 September, Tanglin Gin Distillery has teamed up with Gallery-26 @ Dempsey to provide in-depth tours of their distillery facilities. On the tour, you will explore the gin-making process and the artistry that goes into it, along with following the intensively meticulous process that goes into the creation of every one of Tanglin Gin Distillery’s spirits.

For F1 fans, Tanglin Gin Distillery has teamed up with Gallery-26 to feature The Dare to be Different Exhibition in addition to the distillery tour, where guests can see real F1 artefacts such as race-worn helmets, race suits and more, a dream come true for F1 fanatics like myself.

If you are looking to get a bottle of this exclusive gin for yourself, be sure to be quick. If you remember, only 1000 bottles are being produced! I know I’ll be first in line to get my hands on a piece of history!
