Just like a skilled driver preparing for the race of a lifetime, you, too, need to gear up, plan your strategy, and navigate the twists and turns of this epic event from 15 to 17 September 2023. 

Amid the roaring engines, screeching tires, and heart-pounding performances, we’re here to be your pit crew for this adrenaline-pumping weekend, ensuring that you’re not just a spectator but a participant in this thrilling experience the world is waiting for bated breath. So, fasten your seatbelt, rev up your excitement, and dive into your ultimate formula for the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 weekend to be a euphoric experience you’ll never forget.

Entertainment Line-Up

Let’s talk about the insane entertainment line-up, which is bound to be your ultimate soundtrack for this Grand Prix. With massive names and talented performers like Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon, Jackson Wang, NIKI and BIBI gracing the stages this year, we already know the concerts are going to be a blockbuster. 

But here’s everything you need to know about the main acts. 

The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 has graced us with these terrific main stage acts, but has also bestowed upon us a roster of talented general stage acts that will vibe up the circuit!

But to be truly prepared for the main acts would mean to be prepared to jam out, yelling the words at the top of your lungs. While we don’t know what songs the artists will perform, we might have some ideas based on their recent performances and biggest hits. And what formula would this be if we didn’t share them with you?

On Friday (15 September), the 88rising artists will take the stage! Among them, Jackson Wang is the name that has most fans quaking with excitement. Up till July, Jackson had been on his ‘Magic Man’ World Tour, performing his biggest hits from his newest album, ‘Magic Man’, like LMLY, Blow, and 100 Ways. Fingers crossed, we see him performing these hits at the Grand Prix too!

NIKI, an Indie-folk and pop singer-songwriter with over 1.8 billion streams to date who sold out her first-ever headline tour in 2022, is another big name amongst the 88rising artists. She has been rocking out at festivals lately, including Head In The Clouds 2023 and Lollapalooza 2023! We did some detective work and noticed she’s been playing her big hits like lowkey, Every Summertime, Oceans & Engines and High School in Jakarta, so get cracking on the lyrics!

BIBI, a Korean rapper-singer, is one of the newest members of the F1 entertainment line-up. BIBI’s first collaboration single with 88rising, The Weekend, reached #29 on US radio charts, becoming the best performing single by a Korean female artiste. We hope to hear this song booming at the Grand Prix this year in BIBI’s powerful voice!

On Saturday (16 September), we’re seeing one of the biggest acts take the Zone 4 Padang Stage – five-time diamond-certified GRAMMY Award-nominated phenomenon, Post Malone! He has kickstarted his tour, ‘If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying’ where he’s performed his most humongous hits like Circles, Sunflower, Chemical, and Congratulations. Whatever song Posty serves, we know we’re going to jam out hard with him!

Also performing on Saturday, as well as Sunday (17 September), is the multi-platinum selling and three times GRAMMY award and BRIT award-winning band, Kings of Leon! They will be performing their first-ever shows in Asia outside of Japan this Grand Prix. We can’t wait to see what songs they whip out from their massive, award-winning discography, but their biggest hits include Sex on Fire, Use Somebody, Closer, and Pyro, which we would be ecstatic to hear live!

On Sunday, AKA race day, the music icon with six of the Top 100 bestselling albums in British history, Robbie Williams, will be taking the Zone 4 Padang Stage! He returns to the Marina Bay Street Circuit after 9 years! He left an indelible mark on over 50,000 people at the Padang in 2014, delivering an unforgettable performance even through a torrential downpour. 

Back in 2014, Robbie performed 17 songs which included his timeless classics like Angels, Feel, Rock DJ, Candy and Shout, along with some iconic covers of We Will Rock You by Queen, I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett and the Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys! We can’t wait to see what his mighty setlist will consist of this time!

Now that you know what you might expect, you better get to it! Get those lyrics right and prepare yourself for the weekend of the year!

What To Bring

For an extravaganza like the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023, it’s important to be prepared so that you have the best time ever. We’re here to get you equipped with all the essentials you need. Take notes!

First of all, as obvious as it sounds, remember to bring your tickets. No tickets, no entry. Amp up your convenience by bringing a lanyard for your tickets and passes. And, of course, hydration is key under Singapore’s scorching skies, so carry water at all times. Apart from one plastic bottle of water or soft drink up to 600ml, external food and drinks are prohibited (your bags will be checked). But fret not! Food and drink stalls will be available throughout the circuit. So, bring along some cash and your cashless payment methods.

Pack a trusty portable charger. You’ll be busy snapping photos and videos, which could drain your battery before the night ends. So come prepared. It’s also advisable to bring along earplugs. You’re at the centre of all the action – the music, the vroom-vroom, and the loud cheering. Ear plugs will save you from a headache (and hearing loss!). Speaking of headaches, the beating heart of music and engines might make your head pound, so come prepared with painkillers, or our best friend, Panadol!

Come prepared for the weather too. Bring along some shades and a hat or cap to shield yourself from the nasty sun rays. Maybe even a fan to cool off. But if you recall the 2022 Grand Prix, you’ll know the downpour that hit the tracks that even forced the race to shorten. In case of a situation like this, bring along a poncho or umbrella. If it does rain (we’re doing every rain dance and ritual to pray it doesn’t), bring along tissues and wet wipes to wipe yourself down, or even spare clothing.

Some superfans even suggested bringing along a marker and something you’d like to get signed if you’re lucky enough to snag an autograph. Well, it never hurts to come prepared. You never know what the night will bring!

How To Dress

As your designated pit crew prepares you for the night, we can’t promise you the ultimate formula without a style guide! We’re here to help you look your best, but dress as cleverly as possible for the night.

If you’re a VIP or Hospitality ticket holder, you have access to some exclusive zones which do have a dress code: smart casual. But don’t forget to dress for the weather while you do so! It can get roasting hot (as I’m sure we’re all well aware), so be prepared. 

For the rest of us, there’s no dress code for the F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023. So, here’s our biggest tip for you: dress comfortably! 

We cannot stress this enough, but especially if you’re a walkabout ticket holder, you’ve got some intense walking to do throughout the night. Whether it’s from the stage to the track, to surrounding malls and back, you are walking. A lot. Come prepared for that in some comfy walking shoes. To look your best and be comfortable while walking, our personal recommendations would be a pair of Converse sneakers, the Adidas Superstars or Adidas Gazelle shoes. But wear whatever works best for you.

It would be wise to remember (once again) that Singapore weather is extremely unpredictable. Just like it did last year, it could come pouring down, and you don’t want to be in your expensive, limited-edition sneakers when that happens. Wear something easy to clean or something you don’t mind getting dirty. It can get crowded, so people could also accidentally step on your shoes, so maybe white sneakers aren’t fit for the occasion either.

In the scorching weather, you will also be drowning in crowds, pits and grandstands. So wear loose and comfortable clothing – sleeveless shirts and T-shirts with linen pants, shorts, or trousers!

Survive the Night

We’ve got you covered with some insider tips that will help you survive the night. So don’t be afraid, don’t be petrified, because you will survive! In fact, you will thrive!

First of all, remember that you’re in for a lot of walking and there’s going to be a lot of people there. So manage your time well. Know what time each act and race is scheduled for, and make your move early. Here’s what we know:

• Each F1 race is approximately 90 minutes long.
• On Friday, 15 September, there will be two Free Practice Races – one at 5.30pm and one at 9pm.
• On Saturday, 16 September, there will be another Free Practice Race at 5.30pm and then the Qualifying Race at 9pm.
• And finally, on Sunday, 17 September, you will witness the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix in its glory, starting at 8pm.

Now that you know what time each performing act is and what time the races are, plan where you’re supposed to be and by what time. Leave early from wherever you are and begin your walk to your destination to get there in time, whether it’s to watch the race or to a different stage for the performances.

If you’re hungry, there will be food and drink stalls around the circuit, with most of them in the Padang area of Zone 4 and near the Singapore flyer in Zone 1. You can look out for the food markets, which offer a range of scrumptious Asian dishes, including satays, noodles and curries. Most meals will cost you around S$10 to S$15 and more. A bottle of water could cost you around S$3, and soft drinks around S$4 to S$5. A large beer would be about S$14 to S$15.

If these are a little too hefty for you, here’s a little inside secret! Almost every MRT station will have a 7-Eleven or any convenience store where you can get yourself some snacks. While snacks aren’t allowed into the circuit, you can have a quick bite and slurp before heading in. Exiting and re-entering the circuit is allowed as long as you have a valid ticket.

It’s also a good idea to use the restrooms at the nearest MRT station and mall to your gate before heading to the circuit because there are only portable toilets there (which can be a little nasty). The bathrooms there are bound to be much cleaner and less crowded.

Speaking of which, here’s everything you need to know about the various entry points throughout the circuit, depending on your ticket, and how to get there.

A final tip for the cherry on top of an already spectacular night, walk through City Hall and head to Clarke Quay for the afterparty! Clarke Quay will be bustling with crowds and vibes, so don’t miss an excellent opportunity to party it up and make the most of your Grand Prix experience!
