At the helm of some of Singapore’s most recognisable brands are people who have pushed innovation, but you might be surprised to know their ages if they told you. These youth founders and industry professionals are steering their own course and finding success with it; pretty inspiring, isn’t it?
Well, if you’re an aspiring entrepreneur yourself, you can have the chance to meet these youth entrepreneurs at Sandbox Somerset! Organised by Invade and in partnership with the Somerset Belt Office under the National Youth Council (NYC), Sandbox Somerset is an event celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship in Singapore.
Held from 25 to 27 November and 2 to 4 December 2022, this marks the annual event’s inaugural year, where the milestones of founders aged 35 and below will be celebrated, while also serving as the platform to encourage Singapore’s next generation of industry leaders.
Sandbox Somerset will be held at Somerset Youth Park, where 100 youth founders and industry professionals will be at the location to share their stories and innovations. That’s right; you’ll be able to meet up with Adrian Ang (Xiao Ming) of SGAG, Jackson Aw from Mighty Jaxx, and Lingyi Xiong, the co-founder of Wah! Banana.
And DANAMIC will be there as well with our own container booth! Having been nominated and chosen as part of the inaugural batch, our founder Danish Lukawski will be on hand to help youths who are interested in starting their own businesses.
“I’m honoured to be part of the inaugural batch of 100 Founders and hope that it helps become a symbol of our entrepreneurial ecosystem that we have here in Singapore,” says Danish.
“I see this becoming of great importance to show our local communities that entrepreneurship is, while difficult, a very valid path for one to take. To the global community, I also wanted to showcase that Singapore has a strong force of youthful but innovative business owners and talent that they can tap into.”
Alongside meeting the young entrepreneurs, a number of activities and programmes will be held over the event’s two weekends. Check out stage performances, panel talks, and a Shark Tank-style pitch funding live show.
