Are you tired of the usual foods you have to daobao from nearby food courts? I know the current restrictions have been burdensome for all of us, and we all miss dining out. But what if I told you, you can now have the same experience, with the same delicious food, but in the comfort of your own home?
With Marina Bay Sands expanded Gourmet Takeaway platform, there is now a widened selection for all foodies, from signature to celebrity chef restaurants. With the current situation in mind, these brand-new creations and all-time favourites are designed to be enjoyed at home with loved ones.
What’s new with this year’s Gourmet Takeaway?
Launched in July 2020, the takeaway platform now offers over 280 dishes and beverages. From the exclusive Michelin-starred CUT and Spago by Wolfgang Puck to Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda, and the integrated resort’s signature RISE restaurant, you’ll be spoiled for choices with this year’s all-new lineup. Let me go into depth a little about some of the menus so that you can have some idea about this year’s lineup!
If you like local cuisine, then you might want to try out RISE’s dishes. Presenting their rendition of Singapore’s most iconic dishes, such as carrot cake and nasi lemak, it brings out the best of the homely flavours we are so used to.
But, if you want to get a taste of some premium Japanese cuisine, then you need to try Chef Tatsuya’s award-winning flavours with Waku Ghin at Home. You can now savour five brand new creations by Chef Tatsuya, including fukotami sushi (slow-steamed abalone in sake), as well as the marinated Grilled Ohmi beef, which is known for its fine marbling and sweet flavour. The restaurant isn’t rated two Michelin starred for nothing!
Craving tantalising western cuisine? Well, then you’d be glad to hear that the ever-popular Black Tap, as well as Yardbird, have recently extended their reach to food-lovers islandwide with GrabFood delivery. This means you’ll be able to enjoy CrazyShakes® (you know, the massive milkshakes you see all over Instagram) and magnificent fried chicken family packs even at home! Not to mention, Yardbird is currently offering 1-for-1 signature cocktails, going for S$22+ instead of the usual S$44+! If that’s not a steal, then I don’t know what is.
A Seamless Takeaway Experience
Gourmet Takeaway offers a seamless takeout experience to maximise convenience for you. You can order from different restaurants and complete your payment online, as well as indicate your preferred pick-up timing and location. Collection can be made directly at the respective restaurants or via a one-stop drive-through and pick-up counter at Sands Expo and Convention Centre entrance.
All of this must be done in adherence to safe distancing measures, of course, with takeaway collections limited to a maximum of two people per pick-up.
Also, for those concerned about food quality being compromised because we have to take away the food, I’m here to ease your worries! To upkeep high food quality standards, orders are prepared as close to pick-up timings as possible and packed using biodegradable boxes that are food contact safe with biodegradable cutleries.
