The famous carnival organiser continues to have a presence in our neighbourhoods ever since its inception in 1984, and now they are back again, this time right in the heart of the city with Uncle Ringo Presents The Great Circus of Europe.
Uncle Ringo Presents The Great Circus of Europe is part of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2020 celebrations, and ups the ante by bolstering their line-up in what is possibly their one of their largest events they have hosted.
Here are 3 activities which you can enjoy while at Uncle Ringo:
A circus at the heart of the city
A giant red and white striped tent towers over the fairground here at Marina Bay; the circus has come to town!
Residing within its confines is The Great Circus of Europe, who are performing for the first time in the shores of Singapore! Headed by the Gandeys — a family steeped in circus history — come experience a unique circus event right here in Singapore!
They have a myriad of performing acts on show, boosted by a cast that hails from around the world, such as Romania, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Kenya, and more!
Be entertained by the different performances on show, such as heart in your mouth acrobatics and adrenaline-inducing motorbike stunts in a metal sphere cage known as the Thunderdome. You’ll indeed leave with a unique experience after the 90 minute show!

Free your inner child at the carnival
As with all Uncle Ringo pop-ups around the country, prepare to be greeted by a miniature theme park for you to roam around. This one here at Marina Bay however is much bigger than the typical one at the heartlands, so expect to spend more time here!
Popular rides like the bumper cars and the carousel are on the agenda, where you can spend hours on end with your family and friends.
Alternatively, you can try your luck winning prizes at the various booths situated within carnival grounds such as the infamous ring toss or practice your aim with the air-gun to topple the cans!
The carnival is free to visit but you’ll need to purchase tokens if you want to try any of the games or rides they have available.
Feast like a king at the Escapade Festival Village
Tired and hungry after your exploits at the carnival? Fret not! Right next to the Uncle Ringo carnival is the Escapade Festival Village where over 50 food and drink vendors are housed to satiate your hunger and thirst pangs.
The site is full of interesting food concoctions rarely seen in Singapore and has offerings like the fusion Chilli Crab or Mentaiko Takoyaki as well as the sinful Meatballs in a Bucket, chock full with meatballs, curly fries and mashed potatoes. Truly a gastronomic selection.
Milk tea lovers will also have a field day here with a number of stores selling the current in-trend drink. There’s Instagram-worthy ones like the Flaming Crème Brûlée and ones that stand out like the White Rabbit Bobba Tea, which turns our childhood candy into a drink.
Be sure to cool down as well with some ice cream and treat yourself to some Coconut Soft Serve with Gula Melaka topping. You can upgrade it even further to something like the Mango Sticky Rice with Coconut Soft Serve if you are craving for some Thai.
There’s plenty of seats available as well at Escapade Festival Village for you to put down your haul and relax as you chow down.
Event Details
The Uncle Ringo event at Marina Bay is located at Bayfront Event Space (next to Marina Bay Sands), and lasts all the way till 1 Jan 2020, so you’ll have plenty of time to make return visits. You can find more information about it here.
