The arrival of SITEX 2019 is imminent, and with it, comes a lot of excitement surrounding what new activities are being held at the exhibition which is located at Singapore Expo Halls 5 and 6 from 28 November to 1 December 2019.
The exhibition has already revealed that three themed experimental zones will make up SITEX’s biggest show yet – Travel Tech, Gaming, Health and Wellness. Now, we have a better idea of what the Gaming zone entails with new information rolling out about the activities you can experience during the four-day event.
With the aim to attract a wide audience of varying skill levels and ages, the gaming zone has been revamped and augmented to have as much inclusivity as possible. Free-to-play gaming experiences ranging from mobile and consoles are at the forefront of the show alongside arcade classics and esports tournaments.
Leading gaming brand MSI is heavily involved in this year’s edition of SITEX and will be offering attractive prizes to be won at the MSI Carnival Zone when you take part in the MSI Gaming Triathlon Challenge 2019. Players will face off in three separate 1v1 game challenges randomly drafted out of a pool of 10 games, which range from golden classics like Tetris and Puzzle Bobble to modern-day favourites such as Street Fighter V and the newly released FIFA 20 – an experience both the young and old can enjoy!
Mobile gaming fans can also get a taste of the action from the PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) mobile-exclusive PUBGM X Vivo Premiums that will only be available at SITEX 2019. Compete on the battleground with a game of PUBG while experiencing vivo’s gaming smartphones when you’re at the show too!
The updated Gaming Zone will also house arcade classics like Columns, Bomberman, Mario Kart, Metal Slug X, and old school “versus” fighting games such as Super Street Fighter II. Those feeling nostalgic about their previous gaming consoles from childhood can also get the chance to enjoy them again with the SEGA Saturn, Nintendo Entertainment System, Neo Geo, and the original PlayStation, among others featured.
Participating retailer Gallant Games will also be on-site, giving the opportunity for the public to meet like-minded and fellow enthusiasts of the card and board game medium, bringing in popular tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons as well as miniature wargames Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar for people to strike up new friendships.
SITEX would not be what it is without the latest and greatest in gaming gadgets and accessories, with custom gaming computer company Aftershock PC and home-grown gaming chair company Secretlab joining the party to showcase their products.
The latest Alienware Aurora Desktop R9 from Dell will also be on the SITEX show, coming in with an unmatched thermal design that is equipped with the innovative PSU swing-arm. The design allows airflow through the side vent, thereby efficiently reducing CPU temperatures to ensure a stable performance and higher overclocking—resulting in higher frames per second while gaming. Those prioritising uninterrupted and lightning speed gaming experience will also not be disappointed by the enhanced network connectivity solutions provided by the computer.
Lastly, in addition to participating in the digital arts workshops, the creatively-inclined can also opt to compete in the inaugural Digital Arts and Technology Battle Arena competition which is presented by EASB and SITEX. S$380,000 worth of study grants and scholarships at the School of Design, Media & Arts are on offer to 30 finalists across three categories: Game Design & Development, Digital Game Prototype; Digital Art Champion and the Ultimate Speed Painter Contest.
