4 Episodes, One Day Early: The Remarried Empress Is Streaming on Disney+

K-drama fans in Singapore got an early start this week. The first four episodes of _The Remarried Empress_ have been streaming on Disney+ since Tuesday, 3 November 2026, a day ahead of the original 4 November premiere. That means your weekend binge is already sorted, and Disney+ has the next pair of episodes lined up for Wednesday, 11 November.

Disney+ calls the early drop “a special thank you to fans for their overwhelming support.” Stars Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung broke the news themselves at a press conference. They announced that the series would land “later today” instead of the following day.

A Thank-You to Fans

Disney+ says the surprise follows months of build-up, starting with sold-out preview screenings at the Busan International Film Festival. The streamer adds that the show’s payoff trailer passed 13 million views in its first 48 hours across YouTube and social media.

A day’s head start rewards the people who were already counting down, and that’s the kind of thank-you fans will remember!

Close to 3 Billion Webtoon Views

The series is based on the NAVER WEBTOON of the same name, which Disney+ says has amassed close to three billion views to date. For anyone outside the bubble, a webtoon is a digital comic built for scrolling vertically on your phone.

That readership explains the buzz around this premiere. Plenty of viewers met Navier, Sovieshu and Heinrey on their phones, so the live-action version arrives with a fanbase that already has opinions about every character. That kind of built-in audience gives the show a running start, though it also puts pressure on the actors to match what readers have pictured for years.

Meet the Court

Shin Mina (Karma, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) leads as Empress Navier, with Ju Jihoon (Light Shop, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call) as her husband, Emperor Sovieshu. Lee Jongsuk (Big Mouth) plays rival Crown Prince Heinrey, while Lee Seyoung (The Red Sleeve, The Crowned Clown) takes on Rashta, the escaped slave who upends the palace.

Behind the camera, Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol adapted the webtoon for the screen. Cho Suwon, who directed Still 17 and Pinocchio, is at the helm.

One Condition, One Rival Prince

Here’s the setup, as Disney+ describes it. Navier and Sovieshu rule the Eastern Empire together, but with anxieties rising across the land, their relationship begins to fracture when Sovieshu falls for Rashta, a runaway slave, and sets out to “move heaven and earth to win her heart.”

Navier refuses to compromise her dignity, so she agrees to the emperor’s request on one condition: she gets to remarry Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom. Disney+ bills what follows as “a tale of love, lust and regret” that puts the whole empire at risk as Navier fights to reclaim her power.

That condition is why the premise clicks. Navier never waits around to be rescued; she takes a humiliating situation and turns it into a bargaining chip, which is catnip for anyone who loves a heroine playing the long game. The title gives away the destination, so the fun lies in watching how she gets there and who she outmanoeuvres along the way.

Two New Episodes Every Wednesday

According to Disney+, the four-episode opener will be followed by two new episodes every Wednesday from 11 November, and the series finale is planned for 25 November.

The format is a smart middle ground. Four episodes give you enough to get properly hooked, while weekly pairs keep the conversation going in group chats instead of everyone finishing in one weekend and moving on. If you need something to fill the gaps between drops, our couch binge list from Valentine’s Day has a few more romance picks.
