Warzone Season 1: New Maps, a Zipline Launcher and a Trip to South Korea

Squads in Singapore can drop into Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1, live from Friday, 6 November 2026, so tonight’s after-work session runs on a reshaped game. The season fully merges Warzone with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and the Call of Duty team says it takes the battle royale to South Korea for the first time.

That gives your squad a new Battle Royale map, a new Resurgence arena and fresh gear that changes how you move between fights. Your usual drop spot, your loadout and your evening grind all need a rethink before this weekend’s first match.

Welcome to Hajin

The headline act is Hajin, a new Battle Royale map that the Call of Duty team describes as massive. It brings Warzone to South Korea in a region tied to the story of the Modern Warfare 4 campaign, which means the fight you play at night finally connects to the story you finished.

That campaign link is the part worth caring about. Anyone who played the Modern Warfare 4 campaign now gets to fight over the same corner of the world in Warzone. Hajin is the obvious first stop for your first drop.

New Gear Worth Learning First

Maps grab the headlines, but new gear changes how a squad plays from the very first circle. Season 1 adds the Zipline Launcher and the Grabber Drone, along with two kinds of interactive objects: moveable fuel barrels and pushable cover.

The Zipline Launcher is the one to test first, because movement decides who gets caught crossing open ground and who makes it to the next building. Give it a few practice runs in a Casual lobby before the sweaty squads work out their favourite routes.

Pushable cover is the sleeper pick. If cover can move, the building your squad held comfortably last match might offer different angles tonight, and that will start some heated debates in your group chat. Moveable fuel barrels sit in the same camp, since anything a player can reposition is something someone will try to turn into a trap. Expect the highlight reels to fill up fast.

Zodiac Is All About Drones

The second new map is Zodiac, a new Resurgence map. The Call of Duty team calls it a compact combat zone set around the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters.

A drone factory map in the same season that hands out a Grabber Drone feels like a deliberate pairing, and it makes Zodiac the natural place to try the new gear in tight quarters. Resurgence regulars who prefer shorter, punchier rounds over a full Battle Royale circle get a brand-new arena to learn, rather than another lap of a familiar one!

Zodiac also suits the weeknight crowd. When you’ve only got an hour between dinner and bed, a compact map with respawns gets you into more fights for the time you’ve got.

A Fresh Grind Starts Now

The full integration brings what the Call of Duty team calls a fresh levelling experience, plus an influx of new weapons. Grinders get several new systems to chew on, including Grind for Royalty, Weapon Augments and Ground Ops.

Loadouts are getting a shake-up as well. Season 1 introduces new Elite Perks alongside the regular Perks list, a revised selection of Tactical and Lethal Equipment, and both new and returning Field Upgrades and Killstreaks. Vehicles cover land, water and air, so there’s a ride for whichever route your squad picks.

For the completionists, Mastery Camos return as the badge for players who put in the hours. If you’re the friend whose loadout screen is mostly gold, you already know your weekend plans.

Modes on Day One

At launch, Season 1 runs Battle Royale and Resurgence, each with a Casual variant for nights when you’d rather relax than sweat. Joining them are Rally Point, Massive Resurgence and Loaded Resurgence, and the Call of Duty team plans to add Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers at the Mid-Season point.

For a first session, start with Battle Royale on Hajin, since it’s the map tied to the campaign and the one everyone in your lobby is still learning. After that, take your squad into Zodiac and see how the new gear plays on a compact map where fights come thick and fast.
