Taking Reign, the event that closes out Overwatch‘s first year-long story arc, has been live since 4 November 2026 and runs until 7 December. Players have five weeks to clear its 24 reward tiers while Doomfist and Overwatch head to Rialto to stop Vendetta once and for all.
Blizzard lists every date in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), which runs three hours ahead of Singapore. Keep that in mind as each deadline approaches.
Talon’s Year Ends in Rialto
The Reign of Talon has run for a full year, and Blizzard calls this midseason its final act. The story ends in Rialto, where Doomfist and Overwatch set out to stop Vendetta, and Taking Reign is how players join that last push.
That gives this midseason more weight than a typical cosmetics drop. Its headline rewards tie straight back to the two characters at the centre of the finale. The timed extras around them, from a sci-fi collab to a Black Friday sale, give returning players a lot to work through between matches.
24 Tiers and a Free Sigma
Blizzard splits the reward track in two. The Free Pass includes an Epic Sigma skin recolour, so anyone who plays through the tiers walks away with something without spending a cent.
The paid Event Pass adds the Legendary Resurgence Doomfist skin, a new Heroic Weapon for Vendetta, and more. For a finale built around these two characters, the pairing makes sense: a fresh look for the hero heading to Rialto and a new weapon for the villain he’s out to stop.
Players after the free Sigma recolour should start early. Taking Reign wraps up on 7 December, and five weeks disappears fast between work, school and everything else.
EVE Protocol Ends First
If you open the game for one thing this month, make it the Overwatch x EVE Protocol collab. It has been live since 4 November and ends on 17 November (AEDT), the earliest finish of anything in this midseason. It brings five futuristic skins:
- Widowmaker as EVE
- D.Va as Lily
- Freja as Raven
- Vendetta as Tachy
- Soldier: 76 as Adam
Vendetta turning up as Tachy is a fun bit of crossover, since it lands in the same weeks Doomfist and Overwatch are trying to stop her in Rialto. Junkrat’s Loot Hunt closes soon after, on 23 November, but most of this update runs into December. That leaves EVE Protocol with the earliest deadline.
Necrotic Knight Roadhog Arrives
Spooky season may be over, but Roadhog is keeping its spirit alive. His Mythic Necrotic Knight Roadhog skin has been out since 4 November, and Blizzard describes him as a corrupted knight cursed with an endless hunger for souls.
The skin is customisable across four monstrous levels. That gives Roadhog mains room to decide exactly how cursed they want their tank to look!
Loot, Drives and Esports Finals
Excavation Initiative returns from 4 November to 7 December, and Junkrat’s Loot Hunt is back from 21 to 23 November. Loot Hunt is the one to circle on your calendar. It offers up to nine Loot Boxes with no daily reset, plus Double XP (experience points) throughout, so you don’t need to log in every single day to keep up.
Drives return from 4 to 7 December, with separate Competitive and Quick Play tracks. Ranked grinders and casual players each get their own route to rewards in the closing days of Taking Reign.
On the esports side, the OWCS World Finals head to Guangzhou from 3 to 6 December. The in-game Cheer Rally runs from 4 to 7 December and lets players claim rewards while they follow the matches.
Then there’s the Black Friday Vault Sale, which runs from 4 November to 7 December with curated bundles of rare cosmetics. Blizzard highlights the Peak Mega Bundle, Hero Spotlight Bundles, and the StarCraft Mega Bundle among them.
