Float on a Giant Gummy Bear at Downtown East’s a Sweet Christmas

From 16 November to 31 December 2026, its A Sweet Christmas programme turns Event Square into a candy-themed Christmas village and puts dessert-shaped floats into Wild Wild Wet, so it’s one to pencil in if your December weekends still have gaps.

NTUC Club, which runs Downtown East, built the season around families with young kids.

Gummy Bears at Wild Wild Wet

The giant candy-themed floats drift across the waterpark, in shapes that include gummy bears, doughnuts and popsicles, and NTUC Club says festive photo spots will be set up around the waterpark as well.

This is the part of A Sweet Christmas to build your day around. A holiday photo of your kid sprawled across a green gummy bear in swimwear is a Christmas picture that only works in Singapore’s December heat, and it beats another shot in front of a mall tree!

Lickers Moves Poolside

Homegrown ice cream brand Lickers is opening its latest outlet inside Wild Wild Wet for the season. Opening promotions include 1-for-1 Lonely Cups and a complimentary Care Pack for the first 50 customers.

The scoop to order is Jasmine Tea & Mango. A flavour you can’t get at the brand’s other shops is the best reason to queue at a new one, and it makes a handy bargaining chip when the kids refuse to climb out of the pool.

Having the counter inside the waterpark matters too. The dessert stop slots into your swim rather than becoming a separate trek across Downtown East with wet towels in tow.

Candy Land at Event Square

On dry land, the centrepiece is the Sweet Christmas Village. NTUC Club says Event Square becomes a playful candy land with a Christmas market, festive performances, interactive activities and photo spots, which makes it the easy option for anyone in the family who would rather stay dry.

Shoppers should keep an eye out for Downtown East’s festive gifts with purchase. NTUC Club says these include a mini lollipop piñata and candy-themed squishies, the sort of freebie that a five-year-old will treasure longer than whatever you bought to earn it.

Christmas carolling sits on the village programme alongside the festive performances. With gingerbread houses and a lollipop-heart tree as the backdrop, the market is where a quick walkthrough can easily stretch into an hour of photo stops.

Bubbles and a Piñata Smash

Weekends add bubble shows to the line-up, and the Pinata Smash lets little ones try their luck at winning prizes. Both are aimed squarely at the youngest visitors, which is fair enough for a season designed around parents with small children.

Adults without kids should be honest about this part. Will a bubble show make your Saturday? Probably not, so the floats and the Jasmine Tea & Mango scoop are the stronger reasons for a child-free trip.

There’s a prize at stake, and the lollipop piñata, candy cane arch and gingerbread house make it one of the most photogenic corners of the whole programme.

Families with a mix of ages will get more out of the day by splitting it. Put the bubble show and the piñata first, then head to Wild Wild Wet for the floats and an ice cream once everyone’s warmed up.

Bake It or Play It Indoors

Two indoor spots at Downtown East pair neatly with the festive programme. Gobblin Bake Studio at E!Hub (#03-K1&K2) runs hands-on baking for little ones in a kid-friendly miniature kitchen, which NTUC Club says is designed to build confidence and independence.

PlayOn at E!Avenue (#01-339/345-347) is the newest indoor digital sports and entertainment park at Downtown East, with 25+ digital sports, virtual reality (VR) experiences and interactive games. That gives older kids who have outgrown miniature kitchens somewhere to burn off energy.

Pick by age. Gobblin Bake Studio suits preschoolers and younger primary schoolers, PlayOn is the better bet for older siblings, and either works as an air-conditioned plan B when the afternoon sun gets too much.

Worth the Trip to Pasir Ris?

For families with young kids, yes. A Sweet Christmas puts a waterpark, a Christmas village and two indoor play spaces under one roof, give or take a pool, and the candy theme gives it an identity that stands apart from the usual fairy lights and fake snow. If you’re weighing it against other plans, our Christmas in Singapore 2026 guide rounds up festive events with confirmed dates.

The priority order is simple: the gummy bear floats for the photos, Jasmine Tea & Mango for the treat, and the Pinata Smash if you have kids in tow. Everything else is a pleasant bonus.
