On Saturday, 14 November 2026, The Resting Room turns New Bahru’s School Hall into a room full of mattresses, pillows and live gongs, and the entire plan for the day is to lie down. Tickets start at S$35 before GST (Goods and Services Tax), and you won’t need any prior experience with meditation or sound healing.
Sound studio Future Resonance and Singapore-founded sleep brand Heveya are behind it, and the organisers bill it as “Singapore’s first large-scale immersive collective rest experience”. Put simply, it brings together more than 100 people per session, lying still in one hall while live practitioners play gongs and acoustic instruments, with scheduled sessions running from 10am to 10pm.

That’s a big room of strangers agreeing to do absolutely nothing together, which sounds funny until you remember how rarely anyone gets to do it alone. Most of us save rest for the occasional staycation, like the one in our KINN Studios review, so a ticketed afternoon where lying down is the main event is a pretty honest response to burnout. It’s a booking that gives you permission to stop!
100 Strangers, One School Hall
For one day only, the hall will be dressed in mattresses and pillows, with ambient lighting by XTRA and soft furnishings by Soul & Tables. Over in the corner, there’s no instructor checking your posture.

According to the organisers, guests are encouraged to stretch out on a mattress, write in a journal or simply let the sounds steer things. That loose format is the appeal for anyone who has ever felt like they were failing at meditation, since there’s no correct way to lie on a cushion.
Each session holds over 100 participants, so this isn’t a private spa hour. Think of it as a shared nap with a live soundtrack, where everyone around you has signed up for the same slow afternoon.
Gongs, Bowls and Zero Homework
There are two formats, and they suit very different moods. Acoustic Sound Healing runs for 60 minutes at 10am, 12pm and 2pm, from S$35.

Deep Rest & Sound is the longer option at 120 minutes, running at 5pm and 8pm from S$60. It opens with gentle guided relaxation before moving into a sound journey played on traditional instruments, and each guest goes home with a goodie bag holding items from sponsors including Moom, Tily Teas and Sigi Skin.
Those evening sessions are led by Joshua Garcia Reyna, who has over a decade of experience. According to the organisers, he has led sessions at Yogaloft Mexico in Tulum, Ulpotha in Sri Lanka and Pyramids of Chi in Ubud, Bali.
That Bali link runs deeper than his CV, because Future Resonance itself was born from Pyramids of Chi. The studio now offers meditation through sound, light and vibration at New Bahru.
A quick reality check before you book. The organisers talk about deep rest and calming soundscapes rather than medical outcomes, so it’s best to treat this as a beautifully staged lie-down instead of a cure for anything.
Mat or Mattress?
This is where the tiers come in, and they change what you’ll be lying on more than what you’ll hear. Standard gives an individual a private one-person meditation mat.

Groups of two to three can pick Plus, which puts them on Heveya II and III mattresses in Single, Super Single, Queen and King sizes. Premium uses selected mattresses from Heveya’s CLOUD, WOL, LUX, Round and Trio (Family) ranges.
Heveya is best known for its 100% natural organic latex mattresses and is a certified B Corp, so the whole day doubles as a very relaxed way to try out a bed you might otherwise only poke at in a showroom. If you’ve been eyeing an upgrade from that sagging HDB mattress, this beats lying down for 30 seconds under a salesperson’s gaze.

Smoothies and Lamps Outside
Between sessions, the EYWA pop-up outside the School Hall will sell wholefood smoothies and deli items, so you can refuel without leaving the building. EYWA is the event’s Official Nourishment Partner, and those smoothies are paid extras on top of your ticket.
Lighting partner XTRA Designs is running a pop-up of its own, with pieces from Louis Poulsen, Tom Dixon and Muuto, plus complimentary Louis Poulsen pins for attendees while stocks last.
Which Session to Book
If you’re properly running on empty, the 5pm Deep Rest & Sound is the one to grab. It gives you two full hours, a guided start that eases you in, a goodie bag on the way out, and a slot that turns a Saturday afternoon into a gentle reset before dinner.
Dragging a friend who needs this more than you do? Plus is the smart pick, since it moves you off a mat and onto an actual mattress. For the merely curious, the 10am Acoustic Sound Healing on a Standard mat is the cheapest way to find out whether gongs and a room full of strangers are your thing.
