FairPrice Group opened its second Xtra Lab inside FairPrice Xtra Ang Mo Kio Hub on 29 October 2026, packing more than 250 trending Asian snacks, sauces and frozen foods into one corner of a neighbourhood supermarket. If you’ve ever saved a Chongqing spicy chicken recipe and then given up on finding the seasoning, the answer now sits on B2 of AMK Hub, with launch deals running while stocks last.
Xtra Lab is FairPrice’s store-in-store concept, a curated section that lives inside a bigger hypermarket, and it goes by the Chinese name 霸霸店 (Ba Ba Dian). The first one opened at FairPrice Xtra Jurong Point earlier this year.
Trevor Ng, Managing Director of Hypermarket at FairPrice Group, said Xtra Lab is about “bringing new food discoveries into our hypermarkets and making them accessible to shoppers.” He added that the group hopes the AMK Hub outlet makes “everyday grocery shopping experience a little more enjoyable”, and a shelf of chicken-flavoured Oreos is a pretty convincing place to start!
Chef Eric Teo Took the Wok
The official launch was headlined by celebrity chef Eric Teo, who led live cooking demonstrations using Jia Dian Zi Wei (加点滋味) restaurant-style seasoning packs. His dishes were Hunan-style spicy pork and Chongqing spicy chicken, two classics that tend to need a long list of sauces when you cook them from scratch.

That’s the real pitch for anyone cooking in an HDB kitchen on a weeknight: one pack standing in for a cupboard of condiments. Meat Affair ran a live Hunan pork dumpling-wrapping session on the same day, giving shoppers a close look at the traditional folding technique before they picked up a frozen bag to cheat with at home.
Duck folded into Liang Puff scallion hand-pulled pancakes makes a combo known as duck 手抓饼 (hand-held pancake). Both items sit in the Xtra Lab range, and the duck has a launch price, listed below.

KFC Oreos to Quanjude Duck
The snack shelf is where the novelty lives. According to FairPrice, the range includes OREO in KFC chicken, popcorn and pistachio flavours, plus Lao Gan Ma-flavoured Oishi crackers and chips. The KFC Oreo is the one to buy first, mostly because nobody at the office will believe you until they’ve tried it.

For the home-cafe crowd, there are Chagee tea bags in peach oolong and jasmine, along with bottled Starbucks Coconut Latte Coffee, which FairPrice describes as household brands direct from China. The heavyweight pick is Beijing’s 164-year-old Quanjude (全聚德) frozen duck, the item most likely to turn a regular grocery run into a dinner party.
Deals That Earn Freezer Space
FairPrice has been busy with value moves this year, from locking in S$2.50 chicken and S$4.95 eggs till 31 December 2026 to these Xtra Lab opening promotions. FairPrice lists them as limited-time and available while stocks last, without giving a fixed end date, so earlier is safer.

The Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals cover Kang Shi Fu Noodles (5s) and Chi Forest Sparkling Water. Stocking up on instant noodles at half price is about as practical as a launch deal gets, especially for anyone feeding a household of supper fiends.
The best value on paper goes to Meat Affair Hunan Pork Dumplings (400g) at 3 for S$10.95. FairPrice lists the usual price at S$5.90 each, which works out to S$17.70 for three, so the launch price saves S$6.75 on a freezer-filling haul.

If you caught the Meat Affair wrapping demo and felt inspired, this is the shortcut version.
Quanjude Braised or Salted Duck drops to S$12.50, from a usual price of S$18. That’s the splurge item made friendlier, and it pairs with the scallion pancakes for the duck wrap idea above.
Mala fans get Master Chef Instant Meals in Mala Dry or Mala Tang (500g) at 2 for S$8.80, against a usual S$5.50 each. That’s S$2.20 off a pair, which makes it the easiest takeaway swap of the bunch.
Pick & Mix for a Fiver
The Pick & Mix Value Zone runs at 6 for S$5, with 60 options across sweets, snacks and dried fruits. That’s roughly 83 cents a pick, and FairPrice pitches it as a mid-day sweet treat.
With 60 choices on offer, the fun is in building a bag you can’t get anywhere else in one go. Six picks is a small enough number to keep the damage in check, though fair warning: deciding takes longer than paying.
Gachapon, Pandas and an AI Photobooth
From 29 October to 1 November, the store runs sampling stations, an AI photobooth and panda mascot appearances at selected time slots. There’s a gachapon game too: a capsule-toy-style prize machine you can play to win prizes with a minimum spend of S$15.
Here’s the easy maths for clearing that bar. Three bags of Meat Affair dumplings at S$10.95 plus one Pick & Mix bag at S$5 comes to S$15.95, which clears the S$15 minimum spend for the gachapon game.
