Blue Cheese Gelato Is Real: Queic and Messina’s Cheese Drop Ends 8 November

From Monday, 26 October to Sunday, 8 November 2026, Messina Singapore at 1 Club Street is scooping gelato loaded with chunks of Queic by Olivia’s blue cheese cheesecake. Participating Queic outlets are pressing the same flavours between cookies, and both brands are selling them only while stocks last, so the two weeks are a ceiling rather than a promise.

Cheese in gelato reads like a dare until you remember that cheesecake has been sitting in dessert fridges forever. The Queic by Olivia x Messina collaboration takes that logic further: two flavours called BBC (Buttery Blue Cheese) and Eazy Brie-zy (Honey Brie Cheesecake), plus Queic’s own ice cream sandwiches, all built for that “wait, that works?” moment on your feed.

Cheesecake People Meet Gelato People

If Queic is new to you, its whole identity rests on one dessert. The brand grew out of Olivia Restaurant to give the restaurant’s Basque-style blue cheese cheesecake a home of its own, and it calls itself Singapore’s first cheesecake boutique concept. The name is how “cake” might be spelt phonetically in Spanish, which is a cute nod to its Spanish culinary roots.

Queic has had a busy October, with two retired cheesecakes back on sale until 31 October. The Messina tie-up is the first time it has taken its cheesecakes out of cake form and into gelato.

Chef Pablo Ruggero of Queic by Olivia explains that the friendship goes back a while. “The challenge was finding the right balance while keeping the character of each cheese,” he says in the release. “I think the results speak for themselves.”

BBC: The Blue Cheese One

This is the flavour the whole collab hangs on. Queic describes it as creamy, buttery and nutty, with sweet and savoury in balance.

The chunks are the part that matters. If you already rate Queic’s signature blue cheese cheesecake, BBC is the closest thing to eating it in frozen form, and that makes it the scoop to prioritise at Messina. Butter pecan is a friendly base, too, so the blue cheese has something familiar to lean on.

Eazy Brie-zy: A Cheese Board, Frozen

The second flavour borrows from the classic cheese board trio of Brie, honey and figs.

Our take is that Eazy Brie-zy is the one for anyone who loves a cheese platter but flinches at blue cheese. Fig and honey are pairings most people have met before, so it lands as the more approachable half of the menu, even if the Brie itself is meant to come through loud.

Both gelatos are sold by the scoop and in take-home tubs, and only at Messina Singapore.

Two Sandwiches, Three Prices

Queic’s half of the deal is a pair of ice cream sandwiches: the Buttery Blue Cheese Ice Cream Sandwich and the Eazy Brie-zy Ice Cream Sandwich. Each one presses Messina’s specially developed gelato between house-made brown butter hazelnut sablé cookies (sablé is a crumbly French butter biscuit) with honey lemon caramel.

That makes the sandwich the easier grab for anyone nowhere near Club Street.

Here is where the maths kicks in. Each sandwich costs S$12 in-store, S$13.80 on Queic’s Oddle e-store and S$15.90 on Grab and FoodPanda. All prices are nett, inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax), with no service charge, though delivery fees and platform charges may apply on top.

Walking in saves S$3.90 a sandwich over delivery, which adds up fast if you’re buying both flavours for a side-by-side taste test. It also means your gelato hasn’t spent half an hour in a rider’s bag, and in Singapore weather that’s a real argument for collecting it yourself.

If nuts are a concern, take note: BBC uses pecans, Eazy Brie-zy uses walnuts, and the cookies are made with hazelnut. Everything here is dairy-heavy, too, given that cheese is the entire point.

Which One Earns Your Trip?

For CBD workers, a lunchtime BBC scoop at Messina is the move, because it’s the flavour carrying actual chunks of Queic’s signature cheesecake and it only exists at 1 Club Street. Everyone else should head to the nearest Queic outlet and grab both sandwiches.

🗓️ Date: Monday, 26 October to Sunday, 8 November 2026, while stocks last

Blue cheese in a waffle cone sounds like something dreamt up for clicks, yet both brands built it from desserts they already know inside out, which is exactly why it’s worth a spoon before it melts away for good. Check the participating outlets on Queic by Olivia’s website, then get to Club Street before 8 November!
