ONE OR EIGHT, the eight-member Japan-based boy group behind Yellow Brick Road, the new Black Clover ending theme, played their Singapore debut at Victoria Theatre on Wednesday, 21 October 2026. The SOZO Live night opened a three-city Southeast Asian run, and within 15 minutes the room was shouting back at the stage.
That shouting came with a script. Shortly after the introductions, the members raised a toast and called “Ichi ka“, and the crowd fired back “bachika“. Put together, Ichi ka bachika means “all or nothing”, which is a fitting motto for a group that debuted in August 2024 under the concept “BET ON YOURSELF”.

We were in the hall for it, and I shot the night on photo and video, from the haze-filled opener to the final bow. The show was underway by 7.39pm with all eight in loose grey and olive streetwear against a graffiti screen, and by 7.41pm the stage was a wash of red and blue beams.

Who Are ONE OR EIGHT?
The line-up runs eight names deep: MIZUKI, NEO, REIA, RYOTA, SOUMA, TAKERU, TSUBASA and YUGA. If anime is your thing, you’ve probably heard them already, because Yellow Brick Road closes out each episode of Black Clover 2nd Season, which began airing in Japan on 3 October 2026.

The group wrote the song for the anime and released it digitally on 7 October. When the Black Clover production announced the song in September 2026, it was billed as the group’s first track centred on Japanese lyrics, and MIZUKI compared the group’s push from Japan to the world with its fans to Asta and his companions fighting past their limits, which is about as on-brand as an anime tie-in gets.

Their fans are called 1DERZ (pronounced “Wonders”), and that name came back on the night itself. More on SOUMA: his ONE WHO GLOWS reunion with STARGLOW’s TAIKI.
A Seated Night at Empress Place
SOZO Live billed the night as ONE OR EIGHT Special SHOW CASE 2026 in ASIA -V8-. It ran as a fully seated concert at Victoria Theatre, 9 Empress Place, with doors at 7pm and the show set for 7.30pm.

Regular prices were GA at S$88, VIP at S$108 and VVIP at S$138, excluding booking fees. By the organiser’s 20 October update, only the VVIP tier was marked sold out. That top tier bought the best-view section, soundcheck access, a 1-for-all photo, a signed poster, a badge, a lanyard and priority admission, while VIP came with premium-view seating, a signed poster, a badge, a lanyard and priority admission. S$30 over VIP bought a soundcheck and a group photo. No wonder VVIP went first.
Merch went on sale before doors. According to SOZO Live’s notice, T-shirts, flight-tag keyholders, signed photocards and sticker sets were offered while stocks lasted. Singapore buyers were capped at one signed photocard per member and one eight-photocard set each, and nothing could be returned or exchanged.

Inside, wood-slat side walls framed a wide stage with a large rear screen. Moving lights and haze washed that stage in red, blue, yellow, green and magenta, so a theatre at Empress Place spent the evening looking like a club!
The seats were full of colour in my frames: phones, green-and-white lightsticks with a few purple ones mixed in, heart-shaped boards and fan-made cut-outs. Some audience members were on their feet despite the seated layout.

Ichi Ka, Bachika
They came out dancing, all eight at once, under red and blue light and thick haze. No slow build for a city they’d never played.
Introductions came next, then the toast, and for the first time that night the room sounded like a two-way conversation. I caught that exchange on video.
The calls go further than the toast. The group’s official fanchant guide for TOKYO DRIFT, which they performed later that night, shows when to shout along:
They also greeted the room as “Singapore Wonders”.
A Shout-Off, Solos and a Blue-Lit Hush
Next, the audience split into left and right halves for a shout-off. The noise then dropped into a hush before the next song began, and getting a seated theatre to duel and then fall silent within a minute or two is sharp crowd work for a debut.

The full group then gave way to solo and small-unit moments. With eight members, those spotlight turns are how a first-time audience learns who’s who, and I kept my camera on individual faces through this stretch. Between 7.52pm and 7.59pm I caught a floor-work solo, a member singing from a stool and a silver-haired member in yellow haze.

Some leaned into the microphone stand, others opened up to the hall, and the lighting warmed and cooled with each change of face. There was no live band: the eight sang over a backing track, some on hand-held mics and some at stands.

SOUMA went for the stand and a red-over-white look with a plaid skirt, while TSUBASA threw his arms wide with his eyes shut. Around 8.10pm, four of them stood close together while confetti and sparkle fell on the screen behind them.

NEO brought a third look to the stretch, singing in a beanie and green overshirt with the stage lights glowing behind him. The rear screen changed almost song by song, from graffiti textures and a red radial logo to a Tokyo-style skyline.

Around 8pm, the mood cooled into a quieter stretch of blue-lit solos, with a city skyline glowing on the rear screen.
The audience went quiet with it. Phones stayed up, the screaming stopped, and fans gave the vocals room, minutes after they’d been yelling at each other across the aisle.
The solo thread picked back up, member after member, until the whole group lined up across the stage together.

REIA’s turn was the moodiest in my set: silver hair, black leather, a dark stage, the opposite of the colour-washed group numbers.
Eight Hearts for Invincible
The fans’ white heart banners did the talking. One read “With 1OR8, 1DERZ are invincible”, and another read “Invincible with eight hearts, one journey and countless tomorrows”.
It was a surprise. The Singapore fanbase organised it for the group, and the banner asked fans not to post it online before the show. During “Invincible”, fans held the banners up and sang along, and waved their phone flashlights, each one covered with a coloured sticker. The banner and sticker colours were random, to represent all eight members.

A project like this only works if a lot of strangers do the same thing at the same second, and @oneoreight__sg pulled it off for a group playing here for the first time. My photo shows the members holding those banners up themselves.
If you held one, take a bow!

Loud Until the Final Bow
The home stretch brought back group choreography and fan interaction. A heart sign came from the stage and fan props went up in the seats, setting up the final-song segment.
My clips caught the crowd at its loudest in that finale. After the blue-lit hush, it’s proof this crowd knew when to listen and when to scream.
The night ended with all eight members bowing to the crowd at around 9.19pm, close to two hours after the first haze rolled across the stage.
Manila, Then Bangkok
Singapore opened the run. The schedule then put ONE OR EIGHT at Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier in Manila on Friday, 23 October, before a final stop at Lido Hall 2, Lido Connect in Bangkok on Sunday, 25 October.
Victoria Theatre was fully seated. Singapore’s 1DERZ stood up anyway.
