If 不是因为天气晴朗才爱你 is one of your most-played songs, here’s your chance to hear it in person. Taiwanese band Bestards (理想混蛋) play The Theatre at Mediacorp on Friday, 18 December 2026, at 7.30pm, and tickets have been on sale through BookMyShow since noon on Tuesday, 13 October.
The concert is called 《不是因为天气晴朗才见面》 (BESTORY), a playful twist on their biggest hit that roughly translates to “we’re not meeting because the weather is nice”. It’s their second Singapore visit in under two years. If you missed the first one, the speed at which this band moves tickets lately is a good reason to sort yours out this week.
Meet the Four Bestards
Bestards formed in Taiwan in 2017 and started out, according to presenter CK Star Entertainment, as a humble university band. The line-up is lead singer Kidding (鸡丁), guitarists Jerry (阿哲) and Dillion (建廷), and drummer Look (可沛). Their fans go by “Little Bastards” (小混蛋), a name the band uses with obvious affection.
Their sound sits in the sincere, lyric-first corner of Mandarin pop-rock, which explains why their songs end up soundtracking breakups, long bus rides home, and the occasional wedding. Kidding wrote 不是因为天气晴朗才爱你 as a love song for his fiancée, and that kind of personal songwriting is the band’s whole appeal.
The Numbers Behind the Hype
According to CK Star, 不是因为天气晴朗才爱你 has passed 96 million Spotify streams, and 离开的一路上 (Farewell) has passed 58 million. The organiser says the pair ranked No. 8 and No. 2 among Spotify Taiwan’s most-streamed Mandarin songs of 2025, and that Bestards were Spotify’s most-streamed band in Taiwan in 2024.
Those are Taiwan charts, so they tell you how the band rules at home rather than how often Singapore presses play. Still, anyone who has scrolled through what Singapore listens to knows Mandopop crosses the Causeway and the strait with ease, and the last Singapore show is the better proof.
That gig ran on 23 March 2025 at Gateway Theatre, and CK Star says it sold out. A return to a bigger stage less than two years later suggests the local fanbase has only grown since.
10,000 Tickets in 60 Seconds
The live story is where Bestards get properly impressive. Over the past few years the band has climbed from Taipei Music Center to Kaohsiung Music Center, then to two nights at Taipei Arena on 1 and 2 November 2025.
Taiwanese press coverage of those Taipei nights described the whole arena singing along to 离开的一路上. Fans held up a coordinated banner reading “有你們陪伴,天氣總是晴朗” (“With you by our side, the weather is always sunny”), and all four members were moved to tears. It’s a lovely fan project, and it doubles as a hint of what the Singapore crowd might pull off.
Next came the jump to Kaohsiung Arena, their first show at the venue. When sales opened on 6 June 2026, roughly 10,000 tickets went in about 60 seconds, according to reports out of Taiwan. A second night was added and sold out right away too. Both Kaohsiung shows take place this weekend, on 17 and 18 October, so the band arrives here fresh off the biggest stage they’ve played.

A New Album About Growing Up
The tour comes with new material. Three years after their last record, Bestards released their fourth album, 偶像包袱 (MIMICRY), on 16 September 2026. The title means “idol baggage”, the pressure to keep up appearances once people start watching you.
The album trades the youth-and-romance focus of their earlier work for the messier stuff of adulthood: responsibility, expectations, self-identity, and life choices. In an interview, Kidding summed up the shift neatly: “When you become someone people like as an idol, baggage attaches itself to you.” Jerry admitted he no longer posts casually on social media and now thinks through every single update first.
The single 最后一个谎 (One Last Bouquet), written and composed by Kidding, hit 1 million YouTube views four days after release, and CK Star puts it at over 2.6 million now. For a band built on soft love songs, a record about the weight of being loved by strangers is a brave pivot, and it should give the Singapore set some fresh emotional range.
What You’ll Hear on the Night
CK Star promises a mix of well-loved classics and new tracks from 偶像包袱. No official setlist has been released, though coverage of the Kuala Lumpur leg expects 离开的一路上, 不是因为天气晴朗才爱你, and songs from the new album. That’s a safe bet for Singapore too, and those two big songs are the reason most of the room will be there.
Our take? This is the one to book if you’ve followed Bestards since the early days or only know the hits. A theatre is far more intimate than the arenas they’re filling in Taiwan, so you get a band at arena-level popularity in a room where you can see their faces. That’s a rare window, and it probably won’t stay open forever!
The set mixes well-loved classics with new tracks from the latest album, so it should land hardest with fans who can sing along.
