If you’re planning a Citadines staycation this October or November, your booking could come with a guided coffee walk. Citadines and Singapore tour operator Monster Day Tours are running three of them from 18 October to 29 November 2026. Each walk pairs a different style of coffee with a different neighbourhood, and the first sets off through Chinatown on Sunday, 18 October.
There’s one condition. The walks are open only to Citadines guests who are members of Ascott Star Rewards (ASR), the loyalty programme run by Citadines’ parent company, The Ascott Limited. You’ll need to be a Citadines guest and an Ascott Star Rewards member to get in. That makes the walks best suited to staycationers, or to anyone hosting overseas friends at a Citadines property. Details are on the Citadines For the Love of Coffee Singapore campaign page.
A Global Campaign Goes Local
The walks are the Singapore edition of For the Love of Coffee 2026, Citadines’ global coffee campaign. It launched on 6 October to mark International Coffee Day, and more deals from that day are in this roundup of International Coffee Day deals around Singapore. This year’s global theme is “Your city, your cuppa”, and the local programme runs under the name “A Cup of Coffee, A City of Stories”.
Singapore’s coffee comes in several styles. There’s Nanyang kopi, the strong, sweet coffee poured at neighbourhood coffeeshops. There’s South Indian filter coffee. And there are modern speciality brews. Each walk gives one of those styles a neighbourhood to call home.
The brand ran a similar guests-only kopi tour in 2024, and the 2026 edition stretches that idea across three neighbourhoods. “Every city has its own coffee culture shaped by the people, traditions and neighbourhoods,” said Charmaine Wee, Deputy Area Manager of Citadines Rochor Singapore and Country Director, Guest Service Curation.
Three Walks, Three Cups
Sip, Stroll & Discover Chinatown (Sunday, 18 October 2026) opens the series by pairing Nanyang coffee culture with the neighbourhood’s Chinese heritage. Guests walk Chinatown’s streets and visit the Chinatown Heritage Centre to learn about Singapore’s early Chinese immigrants. The walk ends at a kopi appreciation workshop, where guests brew their own cup and taste local snacks with it.

Little India Coffee Trail (Sunday, 15 November 2026) shifts to traditional coffeeshop culture. The route stops at the Singapore Coffeeshop Heritage Gallery. It continues with a Deepavali heritage walk about the Indian community’s contributions to Singapore’s multicultural identity. It finishes with a South Indian filter coffee appreciation session, served with traditional Indian sweets and snacks.
Modern Coffee & Kent Ridge Heritage (Sunday, 29 November 2026) closes the programme with the newest style of the three. Guests start with a brewing workshop and tasting led by Kaffeign. Then they walk through Kent Ridge and Bukit Chandu to learn about Singapore’s Malay heritage and its wartime history, including the Battle of Pasir Panjang.
Which Walk to Book
If you can only make one, choose Kent Ridge. Most Singaporeans have queued at a hawker stall in Chinatown, Little India or both. Bukit Chandu is different. Its hilltop and its Battle of Pasir Panjang history rarely come up on a coffee outing, and pairing a speciality brewing class with a wartime history walk is the least predictable combination in the line-up.
Little India comes next. The Singapore Coffeeshop Heritage Gallery tells the backstory of the kopitiam (coffeeshop), where plenty of us learnt to order kopi-o kosong (black coffee, no sugar) before we could spell it. A Deepavali heritage walk in mid-November also lands while the festive season is still fresh.
Chinatown is the gentlest introduction. Book it for overseas friends staying with Citadines who want their first proper kopi experience. Brewing your own cup beats pointing at a menu board.
