Queic Turns 5 and Raids Its Own Archive: 2 Cheesecakes Are Back Till 31 October

Queic by Olivia is turning five by bringing back two cheesecakes it had retired. From 10 to 31 October 2026, the homegrown brand is selling its Vanilla Pistachio Cheesecake again alongside the Truffle Brie Cheesecake across its four Singapore stores, with slices listed at S$17.50 and no promise of either cake once the month ends.

The comeback has a name, The Queic Archives, and it’s the centrepiece of the anniversary. A cheesecake shop treating its back catalogue the way a sneaker label treats a retro colourway sounds like a stretch, until you look at how the drop is built and see that the playbook fits dessert rather well.

From One Dessert to Four Stores

Queic opened at Kreta Ayer in 2021 as a home for a single cake: Olivia’s Signature Cheesecake, the blue cheese number that had already won a following at Olivia Restaurant. It borrows the deeply caramelised top and molten centre of a Basque burnt cheesecake and sets them on a crisp almond sablé base. DANAMIC’s 2024 taste test called it “a new contender for the title of the best cheesecake in the country”.

The growth curve is the part worth studying if you’re building something of your own. Queic ran one shop for roughly three years. It then opened Scotts Square in September 2024, Jewel Changi Airport at the end of April 2025, and Jem in November 2025, which works out to three launches in 14 months.

Queic says annual gross sales grew nearly tenfold between 2022 and 2025, and by its own estimate more than two million guests have visited since opening. Co-owner and chief financial officer (CFO) Jessica Hao says: “Each new store was built on the strength of the last, with clear numbers behind every decision.”

The menu grew the same way. Head Pastry Chef Pablo Ruggero says he has added 20 flavours since joining, and Queic now releases about one to two seasonal creations a month on top of a core range of roughly 25 products. Do that for five years and you end up with a pile of retired favourites, which is exactly the raw material an archive needs.

Five in the Vault, Two Out

The Queic Archives names five past creations: Truffle Brie, Vanilla Pistachio, Turrón, Valençay, and Apple. Only the first two are on sale this October, so the Turrón, Valençay, and Apple cheesecakes stay on the list as memories for now.

That gap does a lot of work. Anyone who ate the Turrón or the Valençay the first time can see their favourite on the list and has a reason to watch for it. Naming the three absentees keeps regulars guessing about what resurfaces next.

Vanilla Pistachio Is the Scarce One

First made as a limited Mother’s Day release, the Vanilla Pistachio Cheesecake layers vanilla cheesecake with vanilla cream, pistachio cream, and house-made pistachio paste on an almond sablé crust. In stores it comes as a slice at S$17.50 or a 6-inch cake at S$75, both in limited quantities.

Put those beside the signature and the premium is clear. The slice costs S$1.10 more than a slice of Olivia’s Signature, yet the 6-inch sits S$22 above its signature equivalent, so the slice is the sensible way in if you’re curious rather than catering a party.

Truffle Brie Is the Bold Pick

The Truffle Brie Cheesecake is the stranger and more interesting return. It combines a whipped crémeux of Brie de Meaux AOP (a protected-origin French cheese) with a mascarpone and truffle filling, finished in an almond and white chocolate glaze. Queic files it under its cheesecake boards, so it arrives with vanilla sablé cookies and apricot jam, and a three-serving portion is listed at S$36 in store or S$42 through the E-store.

Between the two, this is the one to chase. Pistachio is a flavour most dessert fans already know they like, whereas a truffle-and-brie cake you eat like a cheese course is the same sweet-savoury gamble that built the brand. Dessert or cheese board? Queic’s answer is both, and at three servings it’s built for sharing.

The Anniversary Offers

The anniversary comes with a set of five-themed extras, and two of them save real money. E-store pick-up orders get S$5 off from 1 to 31 October 2026 with a minimum spend of S$100, a bar the 9-inch Vanilla Pistachio clears by itself. A S$50 gift card sells for S$45 throughout the month, and the 5 Friends Social Media Giveaway runs through @queicsg for groups of five.

Which Store, and When

Timing matters more than usual when quantities are limited. By Queic’s listed hours, Kreta Ayer and Scotts Square close at 7pm from Sunday to Thursday, so the after-work crowd is better served by Jem, open till 9.30pm on weekdays, or Jewel Changi Airport, which runs till 10pm daily. The opening weekend overlaps with the Baristart Latte Cheesecake, a collaboration that runs till 11 October.

If both archive cakes are gone by the time you arrive, Olivia’s Signature Cheesecake is S$16.40 a slice in store. Queic says it now produces the equivalent of about 200,000 servings a year from that range.

Five years in, Queic is betting that people miss a retired cheesecake the way they miss a discontinued snack, and with only two of five archive flavours on the shelf, the bet looks sound. Pre-order the 9-inch or plan your store run through Queic by Olivia’s website, pick the outlet whose hours suit you, and go early in the run, because an archive only stays open for so long.
