Crunchyroll October 2026: 5 New Anime for a Halloween Watchlist

Crunchyroll has added five new anime to its Fall 2026 calendar for Southeast Asia this October, and three of them trade in demons, urban legends, and nightmares. That is tidy timing for anyone in Singapore planning a Halloween binge from the sofa instead of queueing for a scare at one of the five Frasers malls. The first, TOUGEN ANKI: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, has been streaming since 2 October 2026, and the other four land between 7 and 16 October.

Two things matter for viewers here before the queue gets built. Crunchyroll notes that availability may vary by region, so check that each title shows up in your own catalogue. The subtitle lists also differ from show to show: Bahasa Melayu is on four of the five additions, while Chinese subtitles are on three, and only two of those offer both Simplified and Traditional.

Here’s the honest version before anyone cancels plans: only one of the five is a full-blooded horror show, a second is a bloody supernatural war, and a third turns nightmares into an adventure. The remaining two are a giant-robot comeback and a gamer fantasy, so the scare-averse still get something out of this drop. Crunchyroll’s season trailer runs through the wider calendar these five have joined.

TOUGEN ANKI: Already Streaming

TOUGEN ANKI: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, from Studio Hibari, is the one to start tonight, because it’s the only addition already out. Its world has the Oni and Momotaro locked in conflict for generations, and high school dropout Shiki Ichinose learns which side he belongs to the hard way, when a mysterious man attacks him and his father.

Shiki turns out to be an Oni, and Crunchyroll’s synopsis describes what follows as a “dark and bloody secret war” that he joins to get his revenge. That makes this the action pick with horror seasoning, the right call for viewers who want fights first and dread second.

📅 Streaming since Fri, 2 Oct · 📺 Crunchyroll · 💬 Subs: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Thai, Vietnamese

HORROR COLLECTOR: The Halloween Pick

If one title earns a spot in the 31 October queue, it’s HORROR COLLECTOR, which arrives on Saturday, 10 October as a Crunchyroll exclusive from studio pallet. The premise is a gift for anyone who grew up trading ghost stories at sleepovers: urban legends once dismissed as rumours start coming to life, one after another.

Fushigi, a boy in a red hood, travels from place to place collecting those legends in his notebook once they’ve taken physical form. He’s chasing Himitsu, the girl who brings them to life, alongside a partner named Jimmy, who happens to be a human-faced dog. It reads like a legend-of-the-week setup with a sidekick strange enough to carry a group chat, and that makes it the easiest of the five to recommend to a friend who rarely watches anime.

Dreamland: Nightmares You Can Walk Into

Dreamland closes out the additions on Friday, 16 October, and it’s the most personal story of the lot. Terrence has lived in total apathy since his mother died in a fire, terrified of any flame and haunted by the same nightmare every night, until he decides to confront it.

Dreamland, where dreams and nightmares come to life, starts on 16 October

Beating his pyrophobia turns him into a Voyager, someone who can command fire and explore Dreamland, the mysterious dimension where humanity’s dreams and nightmares come to life. The production credit goes to Ellipse and La Chouette Compagnie, and the copyright line names Reno Lemaire’s Dreamland, published by Pika Edition, as the source. Expect something closer to dark fantasy than jump scares, which suits the back half of October when horror fatigue sets in.

2 Picks for the Scare-Averse

Dandivine, from Good Smile Company and Liden Films, starts on Wednesday, 7 October and has the funniest stakes of the bunch. Twenty years after the combining robot Dandivine beat the mysterious enemy Aposdoll, toy company president Genjuro Shijima wants the robot back, even at the cost of world peace. When an Aposdoll reappears in Tokyo, the synopsis asks whether his firm, Kasuga, can regain supremacy in the toy industry, and a mecha plot that knows it’s selling merchandise is hard to resist.

Full Clearing Another World Under a Goddess with Zero Believers, produced by HORNETS, follows on Sunday, 11 October. Hardcore gamer Makoto Takatsuki and his classmates land in a world of gods, magic, and monsters after a bus crash, and everyone gets strong stats except him. He becomes the first believer of a minor goddess, and the pair get by on clever tactics, which is a friendlier hook than yet another overpowered hero.

Subtitles: What a Singapore Household Gets

Four of the five additions come with subtitles in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Thai, and Vietnamese, and the Chinese options change from show to show. Dreamland and Full Clearing carry both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Dandivine has Traditional only, and TOUGEN ANKI lists neither. In a household where one person reads Bahasa Melayu and another prefers Chinese, that’s the difference between watching together and watching alone.

That spread fits what Crunchyroll has been doing in the region this year. It launched a fully localised Thai service on 4 February 2026, with a Thai-language interface plus Thai subtitles and dubs, and Crunchyroll has said Thai viewership grew fourfold afterwards. For viewers here, the Thai push explains why so many of this season’s dubs are in Thai.

One caveat applies to every date here. They’re for subtitled simulcast premieres only, with dub dates to be announced later, and Crunchyroll notes that the schedule is subject to change and availability may vary by region.

The Slate Around These 5

These additions sit inside a far bigger season. Black Clover Season 2 began on 3 October with Thai and Traditional Chinese dubs, and it led our earlier guide to the Fall 2026 first wave: Asta and the Magic Knights are raiding the Spade Kingdom to rescue their squad captains.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! has been running its second season since 26 September, with a Thai dub and subtitles in Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, Vietnamese, and both Chinese scripts. Bahasa Melayu isn’t on that list, a reminder that language support is set title by title.

Aoashi Season 2 kicked off on 4 October and is the palate cleanser between scares. Aoi Ashito has earned his spot on the A team, only to find practices as merciless as the matches in the U-18 Premier League, and the show comes with a Thai dub plus six subtitle languages.

What to Queue First

Start with TOUGEN ANKI this week, because it’s out and it sets the mood. Save Saturday nights for HORROR COLLECTOR from 10 October. By our count, a Saturday premiere on 10 October leaves four Saturdays up to and including 31 October, so if the weekly schedule holds, up to four episodes will be out by Halloween night, which is one tidy marathon. Anyone who’d rather take their frights outdoors can pair it with Halloween 2026 at five Frasers malls.

Dreamland is the one to keep for the last fortnight of the month, when a story about a boy facing his fear of fire will hit harder than another ghost. For the full calendar and any schedule changes, head to Crunchyroll News’ Fall 2026 lineup page, pick a subtitle language, and get that October watchlist sorted before the urban legends come knocking.
