If Diablo Immortal is on your phone, you have until 1 November 2026 to fight a demon lord and pocket Spawn-themed gear before it disappears. The Diablo Immortal x Spawn crossover went live after maintenance on Tuesday, 29 September. That leaves players in Singapore about a month of MRT commutes and late nights to grind it out, and everything happens in-game, so there’s no queue or venue to get to. Blizzard’s official announcement has the full rundown.
Your Spawn Event Game Plan
- When: Now until Sunday, 1 November 2026. The event has been live since maintenance on 29 September.
- Where: In-game in Diablo Immortal.
- What to play: Hellspawn’s Bane and The Eighth Circle, the two new event modes.
- What runs out: Event rewards you haven’t earned disappear when the event closes on 1 November.
- What to bring: A regular party. The unique party cosmetic needs four MVP finishes with a party of three or more.
- What to chase first: The reward track, which includes ten free weapon skins, six emojis, an avatar frame and the Necroplasmic Totem Legendary Gem.
- What to budget for: Shop bundles and a limited-time Phantom Market run alongside the reward track. Set a limit in Singapore dollars before you open them.
That window matters because this is a limited-time event. Once it closes, the rewards you didn’t earn go with it. For anyone who grew up flipping through dark, grimy comics, or anyone who simply wants their hero to look like they crawled out of a very specific corner of hell, this is the month to log in.
A Hellspawn Walks Into Sanctuary
Spawn is the creation of Todd McFarlane, the comics artist and writer behind one of the medium’s most recognisable antiheroes. The character is no stranger to games. He was the Xbox-exclusive guest fighter in Soulcalibur II back in 2003. He joined Mortal Kombat 11 as a guest fighter, with Keith David reprising his animated-series voice. He has also turned up in Call of Duty crossover content.
Those were visits to fighting and shooting games, where Spawn had to squeeze into someone else’s rulebook. Diablo feels like a far more natural home, since both worlds run on hell, demons, and characters doomed by bad deals. McFarlane agrees. At BlizzCon 2026, he described the two properties as “each other’s cousins” and wondered aloud why the pairing had taken so long to happen.

Who Called Whom? Even Todd Forgets
Here’s the charming part: McFarlane can’t remember who made the first move. In a September interview, he said Spawn’s team may have approached Blizzard, or Blizzard may have come to him, possibly helped along by the Activision connection from the Call of Duty collaboration. He guessed that someone simply looked at both properties and said, “Todd’s got a hell thing, you guys got a hell thing. Why don’t you put it together?”
What he wanted from the partnership was more interesting than a straight copy. McFarlane said he pushed Blizzard to invent new interpretations of Spawn and to stretch the character inside Diablo’s own artistic language. Interviews describe him working closely with the team, giving developers room to test designs while keeping Spawn recognisable once he landed in Sanctuary.
You can watch that process play out in the live drawing session from BlizzCon, where McFarlane and a Diablo Immortal artist reimagined Diablo characters in the Spawn universe.
Two Events, One Enormous Demon
The crossover brings two new gameplay events, named Hellspawn’s Bane and The Eighth Circle:

- The community challenge: A massive fight against Malebolgia, the demonic ruler from Spawn’s mythology.
- The dungeon encounter: A Hellspawn-inspired run packed with brutal enemies and necroplasm-fuelled powers pulled straight from the comics.
The community challenge is the one to watch. Diablo Immortal is at its best when a crowd of strangers piles onto the same enormous threat, and a boss with Malebolgia’s history deserves exactly that kind of mob. If you need convincing, Blizzard’s cinematic trailer sets the mood nicely.
What’s Worth the Grind
| Reward | How you get it | Why it’s worth it |
|---|---|---|
| MVP party cosmetic | Finish as MVP (most valuable player) four times with a party of three or more | A unique cosmetic, and wearing it proves you carried your team |
| Violator familiar | Buy the limited-time Hellbound Leash Bundle in the shop | It follows your hero everywhere you play |
| Weapon skins, emojis, avatar frame, Legendary Gem | The event’s reward track | Ten free Spawn-inspired weapon skins lead the list |
That four-MVP reward is the one we’d chase first. You need a party of three or more to earn it, and anyone wearing it has proven they carried their team at least four times, which makes it the flex that tells a story. Round up the friends you already raid with and knock it out early, before everyone’s schedules fill up in late October.
The Violator familiar is a different matter. It isn’t on the reward track: it comes with the limited-time Hellbound Leash Bundle in the shop. Companion cosmetics stay visible every second you play, so this is the item Spawn fans will notice across town squares and dungeon runs long after November.
About That Paid Market
The Spawn event pairs its reward track with shop bundles and a limited-time Phantom Market. That shape is familiar. Diablo Immortal’s DOOM: The Dark Ages crossover, The Slayer’s Reign, ran from 16 April to 14 May 2026. It handed out Argent-powered weapon cosmetics through event tasks, while class-specific armour sets sat in the paid Ruthless Walker Phantom Market.

Critics argue that limited offers and virtual currencies can blur what you’re spending in real money, a concern consumer-protection reporting has raised especially for younger players.
Before you tap into the market, run through these steps:

1. Work through the reward track first. That’s where the weapon skins, emojis and Legendary Gem live.
2. Set a budget in Singapore dollars before you open the market, and work out what any paid set actually costs you in S$.
3. Stick to it. A countdown timer is designed to make you forget step two.
What Players Are Saying
Early reactions are split. Under the official Diablo Immortal post announcing Spawn, at least one player grumbled that the crossover landed in Immortal rather than the main Diablo game.
Both takes hold up.
