Tundra Esports Triumphant at BLAST Slam IV in Singapore

Tundra Esports emerged victorious in the BLAST Slam IV Dota 2 tournament held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, defeating Team Falcons 3-2 in a thrilling best-of-five grand final. Notably the only major Dota 2 event hosted in Southeast Asia in 2025, the tourney treated fans to one of the most exciting series of the year with Team Falcons, reigning champions of The International, entering the finals as favourites, but Tundra overcoming the odds to claim the championship title along with the grand prize of US$300,000.

World-Class Production and Attendance

Organised by Danish esports company BLAST, the event marked the company’s first foray into Dota 2 in Singapore as part of a multi-year partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board to bring regular esports tournaments to the country. And true to BLAST’s reputation, the Singapore edition delivered world-class production values. “Blast events have consistently delivered world-class production values, and the Singapore edition was no exception. The viewing experience in the arena was truly impressive,” said Bryan Huang of GosuGamers. The impressive stage setup, animated graphics, and smooth event flow dazzled attendees, creating an atmosphere on par with the best esports shows around the world.

Approximately 5,000 fans attended the finals in person, making up roughly three-quarters of the arena’s capacity. While the crowd didn’t match the sold-out audience of The International 11 held at the same venue in 2022, it was still a respectable turnout for a debut event. The online viewership was massive, with the event’s broadcast garnering over 21.9 million views worldwide, making it clear about the significant interest in the competition.

Even with the different challenges such as BLAST Slam IV coinciding with other major esports events like the League of Legends World Championship finals and Intel Extreme Masters in Chengdu, as well as the absence of Chinese teams in the tournament and Singapore’s higher travel costs for regional visitors, drawing 5,000 attendees was an admirable showing for BLAST’s first Dota 2 event in Southeast Asia. With BLAST committed to more events in Singapore under the multi-year deal, there is optimism that future installments will attract even more interest, and potentially fill the arena to capacity next time round.

Epic Grand Finals Thrill Fans

The BLAST Slam IV grand finals delivered on its promise of epic competition, and fans on-site were kept at the edge of their seats as the momentum swung between the two elite teams throughout five games. In a matchup that lived up to the hype, Western Europe’s Tundra Esports and Saudi Arabia’s Team Falcons (fresh off their The International championship) traded blows in one of the year’s most thrilling Dota 2 clashes. The crowd came alive in the decisive fifth game, which was nail-bitingly close until Tundra secured the final victory.

Tundra’s triumph not only earned them the BLAST Slam IV trophy and $300,000 prize, but also affirmed BLAST’s venture into Dota 2 as a successful debut event here at our shores. Attendees and commentators alike praised the tournament’s high-quality production and exciting matches, and the overall consensus was that BLAST Slam IV Singapore certainly delivered a memorable experience for esports fans. With this strong start, BLAST’s Singapore Dota 2 venture has set a positive precedent and fans are looking forward to even bigger and better tournaments in the coming years.
