Halloween Horror Nights 13 Arrives to Fright: Everything you can experience at USS’s scariest night event

October has arrived, and you know what that means—the horrors and frights of Halloween are coming! But you don’t have to wait till the end of the month to get into the spooky spirit, as Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights 13 has arrived to bring the scares to visitors.

As the name suggests, 2025’s edition of Halloween Horror Nights is the 13th iteration for Universal Studios Singapore, but this ain’t no unlucky number. USS brings a whole host of refreshed horror experiences for this year, headlined by the new Stranger Things haunted house attraction.

There’s more to find and experience, so let’s dive right into what Halloween Horror Nights 13 has to offer.

Haunted houses

Netflix’s Stranger Things

Get ready for the final season of Stranger Things by visiting the special haunted house at HHN13!

In anticipation of the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit show, Stranger Things presents itself as one of the 4 haunted houses available at Halloween Horror Nights 13. You can find the haunted house in the New York area of Universal Studios Singapore, right next to Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor.

If you don’t remember, this isn’t the first time that Stranger Things has appeared in Universal Studios Singapore. It was here five years ago for Halloween Horror Nights 8, and it has the distinction of being HHN’s first haunted house based on a major IP—and we’ve seen many more since.

For fans of the series, the twisting maze of the Stranger Things haunted house features callbacks to many of the show’s iconic characters and moments, including the likes of the Demogorgon, who hides within the shadows to strike. However, the highlight is, of course, Vecna, whose sinister presence looms large as the space slowly begins to resemble the Upside Down as you venture further into the haunted house.

The set design of the entire house is very ambitious, with some areas making you feel as though you really are in the show! There are also a few surprise scares that come out of nowhere, which further add to the terror.

The Unruly Immortals

The second haunted house, The Unruly Immortals, can be found right between the Hollywood and New York areas.

This haunted house is based on The Unruly Immortals, a popular online Chinese novel that has amassed over 11.3 million subscribers across Yuwen’s online literature platforms—marking the first time Universal Studios Singapore has collaborated with a Chinese novel intellectual property.

Your experience in The Unruly Immortals haunted house follows the journey of high school student Li Huowang, which takes visitors to various warped places, including the rundown corridors of a hospital and more Chinese-themed spaces with ritualistic imagery.

It features some of the biggest spaces between the four haunted houses, but don’t mistake that for safety, as there are still many things inside that are ready to scare you.

Death Whisperer

Get an up-close and personal taste of Asian horror with the Death Whisperer haunted house

Our third IP haunted house is Death Whisperer, based on the 2023 film of the same name. Why this film? Well, the film and its sequel are among the highest-grossing films of the decade and highlight that Asian horror is still well and truly alive!

The haunted house recreates many of the scream-inducing moments from the two films as it takes visitors through 1970s rural Kanchanaburi. Swamps, wheatfields, and even the twisted hut of the witch are among the locales you’ll experience as characters warn you about the impending danger of the vengeful Black Spirit coming your way.

If you love Asian horror, this haunted house is dripping with atmosphere and presents an authentically suspenseful experience to go through! It’s also unique among the other haunted houses in that there are vertical sections where you have to climb stairs to go through, making it particularly unnerving not knowing what is out to get you when you reach the top.

Singapore’s Most Haunted: Build to Horror

Singapore’s Most Haunted: Build to Horror brings horror to the heartlands

And finally, we have the last haunted house for Halloween Horror Nights 13: Singapore’s Most Haunted: Build to Horror.

If you thought that the housing prices were the scariest things to see, think again! This unique haunted house takes us through our very own neighbourhood, where the Demonic Sinseh has possessed innocent residents and turned the area into a living hell.

Stepping and walking through the haunted house very much evokes a feeling of deja vu as you’ll see many familiar aspects of the heartlands, including provision shops and HDB lobbies (with the see-through lifts and all!). And there is an interactive element to the experience as well. Visitors are given UV torchlights, which they can shine to find hidden messages littered throughout.

Scare Zones

The FEARground

New York is transformed into a fear-inducing fairground for HHN13

Alongside the haunted houses, Halloween Horror Nights 13 once again brings the scare zones—open areas with roaming scare actors and elaborate sets that add a little bit of fright as you explore the park.

The very first scare zone that you’ll encounter is The FEARground, situated within the New York area. Here, the space has turned into a post-apocalyptic carnival that is more likely to elicit screams than laughter.

A whole line-up of circus-centric performers roam the streets, with blood-soaked clowns and twisted jesters among the diverse cast of characters you’ll meet. Though they may seem scary, they are up for taking photos, so don’t be shy to get in close!

The Realm of Yokai

The Realm of Yokai gives visitors a different taste of Japan

The Realm of Yokai is the second scare zone for Halloween Horror Nights 13, this time inspired by the creepy aspects of Japanese folklore.

Jurassic Park transforms into a terrifying yet beautiful scene, where intricate Japanese hallmarks, such as Torii gates and bamboo trees, are combined with frightening imagery and characters. The scare zone also features rather eerie lighting and sounds as you delve deeper into the maze, which adds to the immersive experience.

Special Experiences

Blumhouse Bar and Blumhouse: Fear Lives Here

Blumhouse Bar is one of two Blumhouse experiences at Universal Studios Singapore

Halloween Horror Nights 13 also has a number of special experiences that can be found throughout the park.

Two of them are tied to Blumhouse. The Blumhouse name has lately been tied to modern horror, having had a hand in producing recent horror hits like The Purge, Happy Death Day, The Black Phone, M3GAN, and more. Now, USS is bringing that cinematic horror experience to Halloween Horror Nights.

The first of the Blumhouse experiences is the Blumhouse Bar. KT’s Grill has been revamped with Blumhouse iconography and photo opportunities featured on both levels of the restaurant. But the bar goes a step further with its experience, bringing live entertainment straight to visitors.

Various characters from Blumhouse’s slate of movies will make an appearance at the Blumhouse Bar, and there is no telling who will arrive. It could be The Grabber, masked Purgers, or even the M3GAN dolls who take over the restaurant with some eye-catching dance moves. Blumhouse Bar is free to visit—which gives more reason to make returns to see the other characters—but you can also get food and drinks to heighten the experience further!

Meanwhile, at Far Far Away’s castle, visitors can catch the Blumhouse: Fear Lives Here projection map show. Every 30 minutes from 8pm, the castle is lit up with a montage of iconic moments from various Blumhouse films.

If you’re lucky, Purgers may also make a special appearance at the end to add a little extra level of terror.

Live Shows

Once Upon a Time…to Die

Mr Rabid takes over the stage for a twisted version of the fairy tales we all know and love

Finally, we have Halloween Horror Nights 13’s live shows. These always have a great amount of spectacle to them, and this year is no exception.

Once Upon a Time…to Die is the first of two live shows you can experience – an original show that sees you witness the demented Mr Rabid attempt to attain immortality. The twisted interpretations of classic fairy tales like Alice in Wonderland and Snow White are refreshing to watch in this production, with the set designs a particular highlight.

The performance of Mr Rabid is also wonderfully over-the-top and eccentric, fitting in with the whole vibe of Halloween Horror Nights. You can also expect to groove to the beat as performers dance to various popular tunes throughout the show.

Dare or Die Live!

Dare or Die Live! is a visual spectacle you can view at the The FEARground

The Dare or Die Live! show is hosted right at the heart of The FEARground, where you can get up close to watch the exciting spectacle of The Death Devil and his crew. Here, the stage has transformed into a twisted live game show, where contestants are thrust into deadly games.

This is a hair-raising live show by Universal Studios Singapore with acrobatic acts and even pyrotechnics on display throughout the 10-minute showcase. This is a must-watch if you are in the area!
