Following the iconic 1991 film and the live-action retelling in 2017, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast now arrives on Stage at the Sands Theatre in December 2025!
This new stage production of Beauty and the Beast succeeds the original Broadway production, which opened in April 1994 and went on to receive nine Tony nominations and one win over its more than 13-year run—still one of the top 10 longest-running shows in Broadway history to this day! And now, it makes its only Asian stop here in Singapore for a limited season.
Disney Theatrical Group are producing the show, with Base Entertainment Asia presenting it in Singapore; the same teams behind the successful seasons of The Lion King, Aladdin, and Frozen.
What will you get with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast?
The brand-new Beauty and the Beast production sees the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay transformed into an enchantingly immersive experience, with breathtaking new sets, costume designs, and state-of-the-art technology all incorporated on stage.
Audiences will also get to hear the nostalgic and spellbinding songs of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, which include Belle, Gaston, Be Our Guest and, of course, the title song Beauty and the Beast.
Headlining the production are Shubshri Kandiah and Brendan Xavier, who will play the lead roles of Belle and the Beast respectively.
You might remember them in other Disney productions, with Shubshri captivating audiences with her portrayal of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin the Musical during its 2019 season, while Brendan stole the hearts of many as he took to the stage as Kristoff in Disney’s Frozen the Musical when it was staged here in 2023.
