That’s right—Singapore’s largest nocturnal experience, the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2025, is coming back for its 16th edition from 22 August to 6 September 2025! Set against the backdrop of our nation’s 60th birthday, this year’s festival also marks its very first under the helm of HeritageSG, so you can bet there’ll be tons of exciting experiences lined up to celebrate both milestones.
As for this year’s theme, here’s a little clue: what comes after Singapura, oh Singapura…? If your mind jumped to sunny island, set in the sea, then you’re right on the mark! This year’s SNF is themed Island Nights, and through vibrant tales of connection across the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct, it explores how our role as a bridge between nations, cultures, and communities has shaped the island we call home.
Three jam-packed weekends of discovery await you, your friends, and your family. So if you’re ready to dive into some of what Singapore Night Festival 2025 has in store, including the fresh and meaningful ways you’ll encounter Singapore’s island heritage—let’s get right into it!

Moving on to more good news, the Singapore Night Festival’s hallmark projection mapping installations are coming back, and guess what: they’re set to bathe two historic landmarks in breathtaking light art!
Among the many highlights, one you absolutely can’t miss is the iconic façade of the National Museum of Singapore being lit up with MOSAIC, a breathtaking creation by French artist and projection mapping pioneer Jérémie Bellot.

Night Lights
Jiwa Laut by Aw Boon Xin & Koh Kai Ting
The festival doesn’t just stop there: as usual, Night Lights will continue to enliven the BBB precinct at SNF 2025, inviting you to experience familiar spaces anew through six luminous installations by local and regional artists at Armenian Street, Bugis+, Funan, the National Design Centre, Plaza Singapura, and Raffles City Singapore.
Said artists include Aw Boon Xin and Koh Kai Ting, whose practices merge ecology, heritage, and immersive media to question dominant knowledge systems. Based between Singapore and Malaysia, they work closely with communities through storytelling, speculative archives, and experimental digital forms that blur the lines between art, technology, and lived experience.
🗓️Date: 22 August to 6 September 2025
📍Location: Armenian St, Singapore
💲Price: Free
⏰Time:
- 7:30pm to 12am (Fridays and Saturdays)
- 7:30pm to 11pm (Sundays to Thursdays)
Their Night Lights installation, Jiwa Laut—which translates to soul of the sea—draws on this very approach, having been inspired by the crab folklore and coastal heritage of Southeast Asia. Through luminous crab sculptures that move like small boats along the shoreline, the work offers a poetic connection to the sea, reminding us that even those distant from urban life continue to resonate deeply in our hearts with their stories.
KU a Dreamer by Tùng Monkey
And while that’s lighting up over at Armenian Street, don’t miss KU a Dreamer when you’re at Funan! This adorable installation is the brainchild of Tùng Monkey (aka Le Thanh Tung), a Vietnamese visual artist with over 15 years of experience, and in it he poses one simple question: in this busy life, is there any time for dreaming?
🗓️Date: 22 August to 6 September 2025
📍Location: Funan, 107 N Bridge Rd, Singapore 179105
💲Price: Free
⏰Time:
- 7:30pm to 12am (Fridays and Saturdays)
- 7:30pm to 11pm (Sundays to Thursdays)
Of course, everyone wants to spend some time on work, plans, and obligations, but in that hustle, dreams often get left behind. Not for KU though. Unlike everyone else, KU spends his whole existence gazing at his dream in a box. So if you’re there with him, why not take a look inside that box too? Who knows—maybe it’ll make you remember your dreams too!
Roving Performances & Live Stage
The Tiger Hero by Paper Monkey Theatre
Beyond the light installations, however, SNF 2025 also invites you to drift between spaces with an exciting line-up of roving performances and live stages, from xinyao sing-alongs to puppet shows like Paper Monkey Theatre’s staging of the revered Chinese Classic, Water Margin.
Titled The Tiger Hero, this performance vividly recounts the legendary feat of martial arts hero Wu Song, who, after a spirited drink, bravely confronts and conquers a ferocious man-eating tiger on Jingyang Ridge.

This captivating story by the Penang-based puppet theatre group picks up after Sun Wukong’s epic journey to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures, when he’s enjoying a well-deserved break on Huaguo Mountain.
