HONOR made waves in the tech scene when they announced their latest phone as the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone. Since its debut in China this month, people have been wondering if the phone will ever make its way overseas. But wonder no longer, as the company has revealed that HONOR Magic V5 will launch in Singapore!
Singapore is set to be one of the first few lucky countries to experience the new foldable as it begins its global rollout. So, what can Singaporeans expect from the HONOR Magic V5? Read on to find out.
HONOR Magic V5’s Features

Let’s begin with the main highlight of the HONOR Magic V5, which is, of course, its title as the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone.
The HONOR Magic V5’s profile measures just 8.8mm when folded and 4.1mm when open. For comparison, that makes it slimmer than two stacked S$1 coins. And with how thin it is, it also means that the device is extremely lightweight, coming in at only 217 grams.
But even though it is that slim, the phone has been engineered to be extremely tough. HONOR states that it can withstand 35kg worth of pressure and 100 folds a day. The Magic V5 is also IP58 and IP59 rated for water and dust resistance, which adds to its durability.
It is also still able to include a large-capacity battery despite having an ultra-thin profile. The Magic V5 features a 5820mAh HONOR Silicon-Carbon battery, which measures just 2.59mm in thickness, and HONOR touts that it can endure a full day’s worth of use – aided in part by the E2 Power Enhanced Chip and SoC voltage regulation.
The phone can top itself up quickly when the battery does eventually run flat too, with both 66W wired and 50W wireless charging supported on the device.
Fully unfolded, the HONOR Magic V5’s unveils a 7.95-inch display, which is useful for multitasking. Specifically, the phone has an AI-powered Three Split Screen feature that enables three apps to run simultaneously side-by-side. The inclusion of Gemini Live aids multitasking as well, allowing users to get real-time suggestions.
And for those who have Apple devices, the device also has an HONOR Connect feature. Files can be transferred seamlessly across not just Android and Windows, but also iOS and macOS devices – that includes documents on platforms such as Apple’s Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, and Microsoft’s Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Another Apple-related feature is iCloud Cloning, which allows users to transfer messages, notes, photos, contacts, and calendars to the Magic V5 easily if they are switching phones.

On the photography side, the HONOR Magic V5 is equipped with a powerful 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera capable of going up to 100x zoom. Alongside that, it also comes with a 50-megapixel wide camera and a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor.
