MENSHO TOKYO is expanding with a bold new concept – MENSHO X. Spearheaded by renowned ramen master Chef Tomoharu Shono, MENSHO X opens at Raffles Place and offers a fast-casual ramen experience that balances speed and craft in unison.
Located along 6 Battery Road, the 797 square feet store accommodates 46 seats in an intimate setting that provides working professionals a cosy place to grab a quick meal amid a tight schedule.
MENSHO X’s menu has three types of noodles on offer—ramen, tsukemen, and mazemen—each crafted with a unique flour blend that provides a distinct texture and flavour to the dishes. And here are some highlights that you can experience:
Main dishes

Chef Shono’s signature toripaitan broth is a huge component of MENSHO TOKYO, and MENSHO X also features it within its menu. However, MENSHO X’s iteration executes it a little differently. Instead of a rich and thick broth, the new restaurant offers a lighter and more nuanced version to savour – delicately infused with kelp, shitake mushroom, and porcini mushrooms to complement the thinner noodles used.
You can find it featured in the Toripaitan Ramen with Egg Yolk (S$19) dish. The comforting bowl of noodles comes with sake kasu-marinated kurobuta pork ribeye chashu alongside king oyster mushroom menma, red and green onions, and duo peppers, before finally being finished with a silky egg yolk.

Diners can also experience the toripaitan in tsukemen form. The Toripaitan Tsukemen (S$19) eschews the duo peppers and egg yolk and instead includes lime and porcini powder into the mix. Meanwhile, the creamy toripaitan itself is further infused with zesty yuzu juice and then served on the side as a dipping soup.
MENSHO X also has an option for spice lovers with the Firebird Ramen (S$20). Featuring two distinct chilli powders—Sichuan pepper and black garlic oil—it is then steeped into the hearty chicken broth to create a spice-laden delight.

Completing the dish is a helping of sake kasu-marinated kurobuta pork ribeye chashu, king oyster mushroom menma, red and green onions, fried garlic, and spicy minced pork for a generous meal.
And lastly, the Mochi Mochi Mazemen (S$20) provides a unique dry-tossed noodle option for visitors to choose. Here, MENSHO X opts for chewy, thicker noodles to soak up the special seasoning before being decorated with sake kasu-marinated kurobuta pork ribeye chashu, king oyster mushroom menma, red and green onions, marinated lard, and nori. You can also help yourself to the bowl of vegetable broth, which comes as a side to the mazemen.

What’s more, with every ramen or tsukemen order, diners get to enjoy a complimentary first serving of kaedama, which is a term that refers to getting an additional serving of noodles for your leftover broth. But if you need even more noodles, a second top-up can be ordered for just S$3.
Side dishes

If the ramen selection isn’t enough to satisfy your hunger pangs, MENSHO X has also put together some flavour-filled side dishes to complement your meal.
The restaurant offers two rice bowl options, which can either be added to your ramen broth or eaten on their own. The Negi Chashu Rice Bowl (S$8.80) includes braised pork chashu, green onions, nori, and some spicy chilli paste atop the fluffy Hokkaido Nanatsuboshi rice. The bowl is then finished with sesame oil and a secret tare sauce to enhance the medley of flavours.
Meanwhile, the Ikura Rice Bowl (S$12.80) features succulent pearls of shoyu-marinated ikura and is joined alongside ingredients such as green onions, nori, and wasabi on Hokkaido Nanatsuboshi rice. The pickled ginger added at the end provides a final bright finish.
Besides the rice bowls, another side dish on the menu is a street food classic – Takoyaki (S$6.80). These piping hot octopus bites are topped with bonito flakes and nori and then drizzled generously with takoyaki sauce.
