i Light Singapore 2025: Here are our highlight installations

When Marina Bay is shining bright, you know it’s i Light. That’s right, i Light Singapore 2025 is here, and is running till 21 June 2025. Under the theme of To Gather and with red as its colour scheme, the festival celebrates SG60 in a big way for this year’s edition.

Visitors will experience an eclectic lineup of 17 light art installations across Marina Bay, South Beach, and for the first time, Singapore River and Raffles Place. Having gotten a chance to check out the installations ourselves before i Light Singapore began, here are our six favourites:

Embrace

i Light Singapore 2025: Embrace
Embrace invites visitors to join hands to bring the installation to life

Situated right outside GastroBeats and set against the backdrop of Marina Bay, Embrace is all about bringing back the child-like wonder of youth.

Made by Perth-based light art studio Beamhacker, the installation is inspired by children’s paper chains, inviting visitors to hold hands with the life-sized figures. As you do, the installation comes alive with ripples of light as it dances through the ring. And if you manage to have all the figures connected, it further transforms into a symphony of light and sound.

Specially for i Light Singapore 2025, the silhouettes will display camouflaged patterns that represent the four services of the Singapore Armed Forces. Given the milestone year for Singapore, be sure to drop by and show your support by linking hands!

Mozart

i Light Singapore 2025: Mozart
Create your own symphony by pacing up and down the steps of Mozart

Just a short walk away at the Helix Bridge, you can find the Mozart installation created by StudioGEAR from China.

As the name suggests, music is very much at play (no pun intended) here, with the steps being the instrument. Functioning as piano keys, light and sound play as people make their way up or down the staircase, providing a multi-sensory experience to behold.

The centrepiece is a deconstructed grand piano that has been reassembled into an abstract white sphere, further acknowledging Mozart’s bold visions and celebrating how disruption

can generate creativity.

Sign

i Light Singapore 2025: Sign
Sign is a visual wonder with Marina Bay Sands in view

Sign is truly a spectacle to behold here at i Light Singapore 2025. Just like how fire can arrest people’s attention, this installation by Vendel & de Wolf from the Netherlands is a captivating sight for all who come to see it.

While the view from far away is great, step closer to the installation and you’ll realise that the display of dancing flames is actually bamboo poles covered with reflective aluminium tape, and when light catches it, it creates a fascinating optical illusion.

i Light Singapore 2025: Campfyre
Enjoy the sight in a relaxing space with the nearby Campfyre pop-up

For a more immersive experience, the nearby Campfyre pop-up provides a place to sit down and relax as you take in the view of the ‘flames’. Underneath the twinkling fairy lights, grab some light bites and drinks before lounging on the camping chairs and soaking in Sign against the city skyline.

VJYourself!

i Light Singapore 2025: VJYourself!
VJYourself! makes for some quirky videos!

VJYourself! is a unique interactive installation at i Light Singapore 2025 that adds some opportunities for fun videos with friends and family.

Santi Vilanova and Eloi Maduell from Playmodes Studio in Spain have created a modern iteration of a magic mirror. By moving around within a designated space, the installation projects digital echoes of participants dancing – creating a new choreography by repeating and composing their movements.

The effects shown are very cool, and if you’ve seen the music video for Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, it is very similar—almost as if you are creating your very own distinct montage. Make sure you go wild with your movements as it creates some special sequences!

Bridge of 1,000 Dreams

i Light Singapore 2025: Bridge of 1,000 Dreams
Bridge of 1,000 Dreams can be found lighting up Cavenagh Bridge

With the Singapore River being a new location for i Light Singapore 2025, there was little doubt that the Cavenagh Bridge would play some part. Bridge of 1,000 Dreams is the final result, creating a light installation that is one of the highlights of the entire festival.

Presented by UOB and DesignSingapore Council, the bridge is meant to reflect the collective imagination, ambition and determination of Singapore as a country, showcasing how it has transformed into a lovable and economically viable city.

When crossing the bridge, you’ll get to have a closer look at the structure, which is adorned with glowing drawings featuring Singapore motifs created by local design studio Binary Style. You can then admire it from a distance, with these expressions combining into a unified light.

What’s great about this installation is that has an extended viewing till 20 July 2025. So even after i Light Singapore 2025 has wrapped up, you still have a chance to check out Bridge of 1,000 Dreams if you are walking around the Singapore River area.

Take a walk through the meadow with me

i Light Singapore 2025: Take a walk through the meadow with me
Step into Take a walk through the meadow with me, where the flowers glow more as you get closer

Finally, I could not end this list without mentioning an installation that is designed by our very own citizens! Singaporean designers Tan Shao Xuan and Megan Tan have created Take a walk through the meadow with me—an interactive installation that invites visitors to tap into their playful side.

The installation presents a garden-like space filled with special flowers made with discarded acrylic waste and then shaped into flora. Step into the meadow, and the flowers begin to glow and play music as you get closer to them. By having more people gather, the garden truly takes shape, with more lights and tunes activated and playing in tandem.

Given that Singapore is well known as the Garden City, this installation is a fitting tribute to the country’s history with nature, as well as our growing efforts to create a sustainable future for all citizens.

Those were our highlights from touring and experiencing i Light Singapore 2025. But there is so much more to check out from this year’s festival. You can see the full list of installations and where they are located at the official website for i Light Singapore.

Additionally, you can follow their socials on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to see how others are experiencing the festival through their eyes. i Light Singapore is sure to have frequent updates while it is still running.
