Pink Dot, Singapore’s most visible LGBTQ+ movement, is back with its 17th edition! And this year, under the theme of Different Stories, Same Love, it’s launching a multi-year campaign celebrating queer love in all its diverse shapes and forms.
Beyond the annual event that draws tens of thousands, this year’s campaign will also culminate in a heartfelt community time capsule project, inviting everyday Singaporeans to share their personal objects and stories of love to future generations of the LGBTQ+ community.
So, with submissions to the community time capsule open right now till 12 June 2025, here’s everything you need to know about it–including how you plus your queer and allied folks can contribute!
Different Stories, Same Love
First, on the theme itself: the campaign for the 17th edition of Pink Dot builds on the momentum of previous years, and shines an even brighter spotlight on LGBTQ+ relationships in Singapore– whether between partners, among friends, or within chosen families.

In addition to defending LGBTQ+ people’s right to live free from discrimination, Pink Dot 17 also aims to continue to change the hearts and minds of Singaporeans by celebrating the full, rich spectrum of queer love and connection.
Finally, through the power of genuine and authentic storytelling, the campaign seeks to counter the recent resurgence of harmful rhetoric that emerged during the recent election season, scapegoating the LGBTQ+ community and characterising its people as threats to family values and social harmony.
“Despite the extraordinary challenges that LGBTQ+ people face while living in Singapore, it has never once stopped us from leading lives filled with love,” said Pink Dot SG spokesperson, Clement Tan. “We think that that’s worth celebrating.”
Community Time Capsule
As for the community time capsule, Clement Tan states that the storytelling project—consisting of memories, mementos, and expressions—isn’t “just stories of love, but also of hope and resilience. Instead of being forgotten over time, we want these stories to transcend generations and inspire future LGBTQ+ Singaporeans”

Members of the public, including not just LGBTQ+ Singaporeans but also local allies, are invited to submit personal items that tell a story of love at the official Pink Dot 17 website.
Selected entries will be showcased at this year’s event, before being sealed and preserved in the capsule until 2050, when it’ll then be opened by a new generation of the queer community.
Finally, in conjunction with bringing these stories to life, Pink Dot has partnered with creative teams Amok and Friend to produce a short series of three videos exploring love through everyday objects.
Launching in the coming weeks, these films will spotlight the deeply personal ways LGBTQ+ people express love, care and connection–and guess what? The first video is already out, so give it a watch!
