With ZZZ coming to its first anniversary, it calls for a celebration – and miHoYo is obliging! The much-anticipated Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 update is set to launch on 6 June 2025, coinciding with the game’s official release on Xbox.
Titled “Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn“, the beginning of Season 2 for Zenless Zone Zero is an expansive update which thrusts players into the all-new Waifei Peninsula for another adventure filled with exploration and challenges. You can take a peek at what the Version 2.0 update is about with the teaser trailer below:
Introducing Waifei Peninsula
Following the events of Season 1, with the Sacrifice crisis resolved, there is a new journey to be had in Waifei Peninsula—described as a “remote yet vibrant district of New Eridu”. In the main city of Failume Heights, players can take in the unique tea houses, pawnshops, and dessert stalls to immerse themselves in the local atmosphere.

Proxies are guided by Yixuan, the High Preceptor of Yunkui Summit, as they uncover Phaethon’s hidden secrets and experience a new Hollow exploration gameplay that harnesses the forces of Ether. Beyond that, proxies will also be able to manage their own Suibian Temple, working to upgrade the temple’s facilities and earn in-game rewards by dispatching Bangboos, completing commissions, and collecting resources from the Hollows.
The Lemnian Hollow lies near Failume Heights, where the spread of Miasma has created formidable foes that enter the Miasmic Field state under certain conditions, helping them gain shields and enhanced abilities. But several powerful allies are joining the roster to help in your fight against them.
New Allies

One of them is Yixuan herself, who joins as an S-Rank Agent. She has a unique Attribute Auric Ink and Specialty Rupture that ignores enemies’ Defense and deals all damage based on her Sheer Force – and can be increased according to her Attack and Max HP. Yixuan also uses a special mechanic called Adrenaline instead of regular Energy, and has two distinct Ultimate modes for varied combat scenarios.
Another is Ju Fufu, the senior disciple of Yunkui Summit. She debuts as an S-Rank Fire Stun Agent and uses her mighty weapon, Hu We, to accumulate Might and Momentum points to deal both Physical and Fire damage. She also has a Chain Attack that grants the entire team the Tiger’s Roar effect, boosting the squad’s CRIT DMG and the damage of Chain Attacks and Ultimates.

Two more complete the squad – Pan Yinhu and Belion. Pan Yinhu is Yunkui Summit’s A-Rank Physical Defense Agent , and is also a kitchen-savvy panda. Meanwhile, Belion is an S-Rank Bangboo from Yunkui Summit.

Besides the new additions, both S-Rank Ether Support Astra Yao and the S-Rank Physical Defense Caesar are returning characters to the Version 2.0 banners.
What Else for Version 2.0
In addition to the new story and characters, Hollow Zero: Lost Void is also getting updated with new commissions and the possibility to equip multiple Gears to different Agents, allowing for more strategic approaches to battle. The cinema in Lumina Square is also open for players to enjoy movies with different characters during the Gravitational Attraction event, granting exclusive rewards by completing certain tasks (including an A-Rank W-Engine Reel Projector). Lastly, the Soul of Steel: Golden Bond event lets players pilot mechs into the Hollows, try challenges, and earn rewards.
Version 2.0 will also introduce a brand-new 3D map and enhanced navigation features to allow for more convenient exploration across the expanded New Eridu and Hollows. Fissure Beacons have been newly implemented and allow Proxies to restore HP, revive Agents, and teleport. Additionally, new players who complete the Season 1 Chapter 2 Interlude can directly unlock and switch to Season 2’s main storyline.

As part of the first-year anniversary, Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 will also gift a generous set of rewards. A choice of one S-Rank Agent and one S-Rank W-Engine from the Stable Channel is available for free, alongside 1,600 Polychromes, as well as an anniversary-exclusive title and avatar when Version 2.0 releases. And by completing specific challenges and event commissions, players can receive in-game rewards, including 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, 10 Boopons, and new Outfits for the protagonists.
Zenless Zone Zero is available on PlayStation 5, PC, and smartphones (iOS and Android). An Xbox version of the game will launch on 6 June 2025.
