HONOR may have just only recently unveiled and released a phone and tablet lineup, but the company is still not done. Indeed, HONOR is back in the headlines, this time unveiling the all-new HONOR 400 series.
The HONOR 400 series—made up of the HONOR 400 and HONOR 400 Pro—boasts AI innovations and powerful specs for users to take advantage of. But that’s enough teasing; here’s what you will get with HONOR’s latest smartphones.
The Hardware of the HONOR 400 Series

Let’s begin with the hardware first, and the big highlight is its cameras.
Both the HONOR 400 and HONOR 400 Pro are equipped with a 200-megapixel main sensor, which is usually mostly found on premium flagship smartphones. Where the difference lies for both phones is with the rest of the cameras.
The HONOR 400 Pro has a triple-camera setup, with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and macro camera completing the lineup. Meanwhile, the HONOR 400 is a duo-camera system with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and macro camera alongside the main camera. As for the front, both phones have a 50-megapixel selfie camera, which can be used for extra-clear portrait selfies.
In terms of screen size, the HONOR 400 Pro comes slightly larger at 6.7 inches, while the HONOR 400 has a 6.55-inch display. But both phones boast a 1.5K AMOLED panel as well as a 120Hz refresh rate and a high 5,000 nits of HDR peak brightness.
Besides the impressive hardware specs for the displays, both phones also come with features that users might appreciate. The big one is Motion Sickness Relief, which is a new display technology implemented to reduce nausea and dizziness if you are viewing the screen while in a moving vehicle. Another is Ultra Dark Mode, a mode that dims the screen to just 1.5 nits to make it more comfortable to view the screen at night.
Internally, both of these smartphones also has some decent specs. The HONOR 400 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 powers the regular HONOR 400. Interestingly, both phones are equipped with a massive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, and that should last most people for quite some time. Even after the battery is dead, HONOR includes a 100W HONOR Wired SuperCharge charger to get the phone back up to speed fast. The Pro model, in particular, also supports 50W wireless charging.
The HONOR 400 series has also been made rather durable. The Pro version features IP68 and IP69-rated water and dust resistance, while the regular model boasts IP65 water and dust resistance.
AI Features

AI is also set to be a big part of the HONOR 400 series, with the phones touting a number of features for users to play with.
HONOR is utilising Gemini for the 400 series, as Google’s latest AI assistant looks set to be a mainstay for smartphones going forward. Gemini brings more capabilities than the old Google Assistant, such as Live with Gemini, which gives real-time responses and allows users to brainstorm ideas, simplify complex topics, and more. And then, of course, there’s the suite of AI tools available, like AI Summary and AI Translation; now a staple in modern phones.
But HONOR does have some new AI features not seen in other phones. Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, HONOR is presenting AI Image to Video – a feature that turns static images into five-second moving pictures. They promoted several ways for people to use it, like animating famous paintings, or if you’re nostalgic, bringing old childhood photos to life.
Photography-wise, the HONOR 400 series also has the advanced AI HONOR IMAGE ENGINE, which enables features for photo-taking like AI Super Zoom on the HONOR 400 Pro (emulating telephoto zoom capabilities of 15x to 50x) as well as AI Portrait Snap. Something that I suspect people will like is the new Film Simulation filters. Similar to what you get with a Fujifilm camera, the phones offer filters (six in total) that simulate as if you’ve taken a photo with a film camera, which sounds very cool.

And the devices also has other AI photography tools at its disposal, like AI Eraser, AI Outpainting (which extends images wider, filling in the background with AI), and AI Upscale, among others.
