Snap! That’s another one for the collection. If you have a pet, you surely must have dozens, if not hundreds, of photos of your pets—we can’t help it, it is in our nature. We are obsessed with capturing moments of our pets, and it has been going on for hundreds of years. You only look at the numerous paintings made, like Claude Monet’s “Camille with a Small Dog” from 1866. And with the accessibility of social media, it is getting easier to share them with the world.
Starting with YouTube, where cat videos reigned supreme for a number of years, we have now shifted to platforms like Instagram and TikTok to showcase all the lovable things that our pets do. You’ll even find profiles created by owners dedicated to showcasing the everyday lives of their pets. It is the era of candids, but there is something else that offers memory-making in a different way: pet photography.

Think back to the time when you’re finished your time in university and are in your graduation gown along with your family, or decked in your best suit or dress with your partner ahead of the wedding day – big moments that you want to immortalise with a photoshoot. And that is the appeal that pet photography provides.
Pet photography showcases our paw pals at their very brightest. When you’ve just had them nicely groomed, with a neat coat ready for show, sometimes a phone camera isn’t able to do it justice. That is why more people are looking into pet photography.
And pet photography is becoming more varied as well. It isn’t just a simple photoshoot with a white backdrop. Petto, for instance, offers different themed photoshoots every month. When spooky season comes along, your pets can join in the Halloween fun in their best costume amongst the pumpkins and cobwebs. Or for April’s Songkran theme, they captured pets frolicking in excitement as they enjoyed the splashes of water.

But, of course, what draws everyone to share moments with their pets is spontaneity. Whenever your dog, cat, or other animal friend is doing something so quirky that you can’t help but laugh, that’s the best time to snap a moment of your pet. It’s a showcase of their unique character, after all.
Luckily enough, pet photography is also able to mimic the same experience. With their Pet Unglam shoots, Petto encourages fur kids to go all out and express themselves – chasing toys, doing tricks, or even messily eating; all of it is captured by the photographers.
So, if you wish to take your pet’s memories to the next level, perhaps you might want to explore pet photography. For more inspiration, check out Petto’s Instagram!
